There are such things as low-yield nukes, which have a small blast range and

The US military has "man packs," so called because they can be carried in a
backpack. They are of approximate strength that they can destroy a decent
size city.

I heard a rumor that they've lost around 13 of them... they don't know where
they are!

Scary, huh?

Actually, I've heard the same thing but I believe it is actually the Russian
Government that possessed such devices and subsequently lost them - along with
numerous rumored caches of Russian military firearms allegedly hidden around
North America.......

Of course, there's nothing to say the US couldn't lose some too.. we've lost
what... 2? 3? laptops with top secret or higher information because ppl
carrying them around were rather ... careless?

Also, I think a mecha equipped with tac-nukes would also have the
appropriate shielding for optics and electronics.

So to make this relevant after all:  Nice Mech!

And I would expect the same thing - If you're gonna deliver a nuke that is
designed for 'close' range... being: the delivery vehicle will not clear the
blast area before detonation, said delivery vehicle would be properly
shielded... but man..that much leaded armor would be heavy... maybe that's the
real reason for the compensating shocks on the shins/feet.....! ;)

Very cool - I love the tri cannons, too! (not about to go down the "Groin
Cannon" road... too many intrepid souls have done that for me! <G>)
