So yes, it is a bit weak, because the turret wants to slip off of the 2x2
round brick. With a few rotations up and down, it eventually comes off. :-(
As for the railgun connection to the turrets, that is done with two of those
new blue technic axle pins (3749), which are stiff enough to support the
lateral movement of the guns.

OK--Id wondered if you were using the soft-plastic-rod stiffening technique in
this somehow. Is there no way to use the 4x4 round brick, which also has a
center axle groove? It might hold the guns better, though I dont know what
effect it will have on the circular barbette made with those new black pieces
(and which I hadnt noticed were in fact made of those until looking through all
the pictures just before posting--its that seamless, and looked like a stack of
8x8 round plates/4x4 quarter rounds at first--but I like the dimpled effect
this way much better).
Agreed on the spiffiness of the new friction axle pegs, though I dont use my
blue ones much--now that I have enough of them in black!

But it's a good suggestion nonetheless, and I regret not trying it out. The real (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
