Yes, youre absolutely correct about this, and its a problem a lot of modern
MBTs have as well.
However, those hatches were the only pieces I had that could solve this
particular design problem. Blame LEGO.
Taking this one step further however, you can argue that with the advent of
precision munitions either dropped from jets, launched from attack helicopters,
AFVs, tanks (Russian), troops, or fired by artillery (a la Copperhead), all
armoured land vehicles are sitting ducks. In real life, my MPs would probably be
destroyed before they even got out of their hangars.
The only way I resolve this issue is to simply assume that the side fielding
these MPs would have complete air superiority. The MPs would then act like King
Tigers and blow up whatever airpower couldnt. Of course, the King Tigers of
WWII were themselves the victims of airpower, and suffered more from allied
Jabos than allied tanks themselves. I also assume my MPs would be supported by
a whole convoy of AA vehicles, AFVs, etc.

I like the white cockpit. Ive been in an M1 tank simulator, and they are
white inside - makes the space seem less confining, and provides a sort of
art gallery environment for whatever the tankers choose to tape to the
interior. ;-)

Heh, yeah, thats what I was going for. Glad you like it.

gatling
gun
I really like the gatling. I can almost see spent cartridges raining down on
your soldados.

LOL! Thanks.

gun
mounts
The open bottoms of the rail guns detract a bit, but the gun mounts are
fabulous with the black rounded pieces (and I like the balcony area
underneath).

Yeah, the bottoms of the bricks isnt all that attractive. I probably should
have covered them up with plates.
|
The 50 mm cannons would be better with more realistic mounts. They seem just
stuck on.
|
They are indeed stuck on, last minute I must add. I guess I was far more
concerned with giving them a good range of motion, than with giving them more
realistic mounts as you say.
I was originally thinking of fitting them through an embrasure of sorts, like
the 40mm guns on the AC-130.

The missile tube setup looks very submariney, also reminds me of some old
Soviet hardware.
|
Mmm... Indeed, this MP is a boomer!
|
This should be called the L-21 Hammerhead.
|
Yeah, but thats too obvious. Plus, I didnt give my other MPs nicknames, so I
dont want to break the tradition. :-)

I think youll be able to get many orders from countries wanting to replace
their unstable (and high maintenance) A-33s.

Oh definitely. Those things are awful. :-p
Thanks for the reply Brian! Good luck in the Iron Mecha contest.
