Thanks Zac!

Finally! This mecha took way too long to complete. I started it after Christmas, and only got it done yesterday. I guess age slows you down. Heh. :-p

Hah you’re still miles ahead of me when it comes to build speed. One question is where does one start on a model like that. The hips? A single leg?

I always start in this order:
  • Make one leg
  • Multiply that leg six times
  • Build the chassis/thorax
  • Build the upper body
  • Figure out placement of cockpit, weapons, missiles, and sensors
  • Attach the weapons, missiles, sensors

Anyways, this mobile platform is similar in some ways to my MTP, which I did all the way back in 2003. However, there are references to my other mobile platforms, as well.

It’s funny you say that as even though I can see a lot of similarities (lets call them Mladen design trademarks ;)) I also noted a bunch of new concepts. Or concepts that were more refined.

Yeah, I just keep on building off of my older ideas.

I should also mention that this mecha is quite stable. In fact, after the MDP and MWP, it is one of the most stable MPs I’ve ever built. Even on slick surfaces it does not collapse. Ironically however, if I lift it up, the middle leg joints pull themselves apart and the legs dangle. Oh well. :-)

So I came to the right man for joint advice then ;)

Well, because of the weight of these MPs, the joints are almost always locked in place.

An MP with moveable joints is an exercise I’ll leave to Mr. Cooper and Mr. Sophie. :-)

As I said, fantastic job man. I have hopes to build such a behemoth one day too ;)

Thanks again Zac. I hope to see a Soden MP sometime in the future, as well! :-D
