I just went downstairs and tried this (I assume your method puts the “handle” of the bullhorn in the open end of the Technic peg after it’s through the brick) and it seems to work very, very well indeed. Is that how you did it? I’ve been logicking out various bits and subassemblies for my ongoing major project, and one of the biggest problems has been supporting that kind of weight in the limited space allowed while still having some kind of flexibility for gearing it. This may allow me to do just that, even more effectively than rotary click joints which have their limits...you’re my hero du jour, sir.

Are there other ways of stiffening up an elevating cannon-type assembly? These things will be 500g apiece and very long (they are what you think they are), so robustness is critical.

all best
