That's a designation system I came up with for the BeltWars universe.
Some are more obvious than others. I've been lazy about putting the
explanations for these on my website.
Standard:
AW--Armored Walker
BA--Battle Armor
F--Fighter (aerospace)
SR--Scouting/Reconnaisance (aerospace)
ZG--Zero Gravity (space fighters)
Special Purpose:
FAW--Flight-capable Armored Walker
LGAW--Low Gravity Armored Walker

On ColinG's page mecha page, (URL) got things like AW-42, AW-90, BA-100, BA-13, FAW-16, LGAW-20, and AW-32A. Do the letters and (...) (25 years ago, 25-Feb-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)
