First of all I want to say that this sets the benchmark for me in worm-geared
mechs. Its got the looks to match the tech - I love it.
|
Cool! I expect you to top the benchmark. Cmon, you can do it! Ill even help
however I can. Lets make whoop-@$$ mechs!
|
But, and this is a big but, and probably not my place to say, I cant help
thinking that its got a bit of a split personality problem. I think Id have
preferred to see it with more humaniod legs to match the humanoid torso and
arms. I wouldnt even call it a chicken-walker. Your legs seem to be evolving
into a more bestial rather than avian form, but the feet remain very bird
like. It makes for an odd, though admittedly not unpleasant mix.

I dig it, I do. I share that. Shogun does seem to have some conflict within.
The soul doesnt seem, complete. It even doesnt feel complete. In part this
is why I chose the name Shogun. I percieve the Shoguns of old to be political
as well as military commanders/leaders. Samurai commanders with deep and secret
thoughts. I always thought the Samurai as a conflicted individual. One whom
wrestles with the mastered skill and art of killing and the knowledge that they
are servants of a higher power. Observe how many of the Samurai were also
artists and appreciated life. It is to achieve a balance I believe. Such it is
with my creation. Shogun exists, and yet it defies its existance in the laws
that govern our existance. It seems out of place, yet it is there. Shogun
provokes thought and reflection for me. So I find it very interesting of this
comment, thank you.

The legs are very well done though. Id like to see that design on a
quadruped mech - something inspired by a big cat of some kind. Thats what
the proportions remind me of.
|
Now thatd be cool. Ive always wanted to do a kind of zoid Liger zero kind of
thing.
|
Anyway, I do have it in mind to do a reverse knee mech at some point. Your
brickshelf folder is definitely the bible for that, particularly my personal
favourite, the Poison Tree Frog Mk2.
|
COOL! Cant wait to see what you do! (BTW, I agree, the Tree Frog Mk2 is
probably my favorite out of the series as well. It was very focused.)
