Yo, This is Shogun.
Deep Link
if needed.
A while back I posted a chassis that I was working on,
here. Well since then the arms
went through one full rebuild, the legs three full rebuilds, the body had one
minor surgery, and a multitude of general goofs and corrections. Its been a
long three weeks at one work day per week.
A few points of interest.
* 22 (yes, you read right, twenty-two) worm gear joints
* Height varies but figure
around 2 tall * Preplanned break points for storage, shipping and general ease
of handling * Missles, big ones, small ones, lots of em. * A big rifle called
the KG Hippy Squisher (Ill let you figure out KG is) * Not necessarily stable
but very posable
* There is a hidden cockpit in the back. No engine on this one, two reasons,
wieght and space. The cockpit action took up more space than Id like but it
turned out really cool. * Yeah, its fun to play with
Im gonna try a MOC page for
this. so as soon as it gets moderated look for some insight to come forth there
as well.
Enjoy Shogun mates! PLMKWYT

| That's a mighty fine looking piece of mech, Mark. Are they lighted eyes? I assume the battery box is in the chest... Can't wait to see more pictures. Great work. Pete (...) (20 years ago, 6-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

| (...) Great work, Mark. I've always classified Mecha into 2 classes: Spacey and Technicy This mech shows a perfect mix of the two. It is the best wormgear & technic turntable mech I've seen in quite a while. The poses with the gun are amazingly (...) (20 years ago, 6-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

| (...) Got the MOC page up see it (URL) here>. Has some commentary with it that could be helpful in trying to understand some of the tech. Of course, I'm no Goldman, but I try to be entertaining. Mark (20 years ago, 6-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX) !

| (...) Yo, and it definitly looks like a Neumann-Mecha. And this is sooooo cool! I really like it. It's the best big one you built for a while. In Snowcat I saw you went a new way. It was good to do so but somehow it didn't look as perfect (to me). (...) (20 years ago, 6-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

| Awesome work!!! The level of detail on this thing is almost excessive, but somehow works with the model, instead of against it... Very nice. I could go on and on about how well built and designed this is, but I'll spare you. The rifle alone is a (...) (20 years ago, 7-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

| (...) Wow! This mech is soooo awesome! Just amazing work...I can't find a thing to criticize... Just really fine work. The shape of the head almost reminds me of something I would see on one of Sophie's bots...almost... The mech looks so clean, yet (...) (20 years ago, 7-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

| (...) From one of the newbies at .Mecha --- WOW/Thanks. This is incredible. I love the detail and the articulation. The poses are so realistic. After talking to you via e-mail, I am amazed by the gear work. I can't express how amazing 22 worms gears (...) (20 years ago, 7-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

| It looks Avian, but at the same time Saurian. For some reason, I think this mecha would look good with a dinosaur-like tail. You know, you can articulate a long tail with a dozen worm gears... Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned this. You'll dry up the (...) (20 years ago, 7-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

| This is, by far, a mech with extreme coolness factor. I can almost see the missile salvos going off... and that kind of imagination is something I have in short supply nowadays. Great work man, Great work. Oz (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

| (...) Whoah. I'll let the other guys discuss the technical wizardry, for me Shogun is all about the art. I'm likin' the transition from the upper to the lower knee, with the overhangs on either end. The compact hip and waist design allows you to (...) (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

| (...) Wow! I saw the preview pics and I also knew how hard you were working this mech. Seeing the finished mech is a sight too see. Every aspect of this mech works well together from the geared frame to the excellent detail. Very well thought out (...) (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

| (...) First of all I want to say that this sets the benchmark for me in worm-geared mechs. It's got the looks to match the tech - I love it. But, and this is a big but, and probably not my place to say, I can't help thinking that it's got a bit of a (...) (20 years ago, 9-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
