Yo, This is Shogun.

Yo, and it definitly looks like a Neumann-Mecha. And this is sooooo cool!
I really like it. Its the best big one you built for a while.
In Snowcat I saw you went a new way. It was good to do so but somehow it
didnt look as perfect (to me). Horodris seemed a bit clumsy. Dont get me
wrong they are both fantastic (I would be glad to have such ideas and the
ability to translate them into models). Shade was different, he just was
what Id call round. And now this. Shogun looks to me like Shades BIG
brother. I like the poseabilty, and the overall live like look. As soon as I
had closed my mouth after stareing at your pics, I wanted to build! Just
build...

Cool. Glad to hear it man. Build, build, build. Thats the motto (or at least
its mine) here in .mecha. Kind of funny you bring it up. Because I think
probably the only factor that I try to keep is the reverse knee design to make
it a Neumann mech. Im constantly trying to push myself and think differently
with each design. Like you, Im not always crazy with the results, but they
always seem to provoke thought and imagination. Which is the point isnt it?

Now to the critcs. Its peanuts, but it bothered me.
- The yellow spots from gear housings and the shock absorbers seem out of color to me (like you ran out of bricks of your color scheme).
|
Yeah, right in one. I ran out of the gearboxes in any other color than yellow.
If I can get some in black, I may go in and replace them, or not. Plus the leg
shocks in yellow, that type of shock only comes in yellow so Im kind of stuck.
Attempts to cover it result in bulky (and awkward) looking covers.

- Shogun is standing on eight wheels. Good idea keeps that heavy boy from sliding. But Id like those wheels to be hidden from sight.
|
Good point. I realy need to develop a floating skirt kind of thing. Because
the tyre is usually not a set brick height, and itll squish as more wieght is
put on it. The dangerous thing with placing a static skirt is that if the mech
settles too much, it runs the risk of slipping on the skirt. Hmmmm, I got a new
tech goal for the next time I get the urge to do this. Thanks.
|
Mark thank you for this Mech,
|
Youre welcome. Like I say, I just have fun doing it, plus the ABS talks to me,
so I kind of have no choice really.
