<<I have dozens of the black friction pins and no dacta sets so they must
come in 'normal' sets somewhere. however for me, even the black pins
only work on small mecha.
most of my 8+ inch models won't even stand using two friction pins a
joint. While the friction pins do keep joints from flopping, in my
experiance there not near enough to hold up any good size model (using a
simple swinging joint).>>
On my "Hades" model, I used the large technic springs that came with the
Insectoid vehicles (whatever is it called anyway? My name for it when
playing is "Odanta.")
My CAD-version of the Hades abandons the spring locks in favor of friction
joints with brick locks designed by Ron Perovich. I basically took his Mad
Cat legs and redesigned them to be to scale with my Hades.
