I just was messing around with those 3X2 wedge pieces and those horizontal hinge plates, and found an interesting build for a mecha torso. I then added on to that and built the rest of the torso and arms. I also used car doors so i could have the (...) (22 years ago, 20-Oct-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

I'll render closeups of some of the main pieces of interest, including the hips and shoulders. I think you'll be suprised at how I did the hips, it's a pretty interesting technique. One of the tricks to making it look "cartoonish" is using self illumination (about 35%) on the materials, that way the colors are vibrant and you (...) Hi James, The final design will Walk. Though it will not be Bipedal I'm afraid. I have a few ideas brewing around multiple legs. At first I wanted a bipedal necha but the lack of gyro tech concludes the thought. Multiple legs will be the solution. (...) Tony! Thanks, The spine will be mounted on two Technic Turntables. This will be the main bearing. I'm gonna see if a side twist can be addded. We'll see what kind of room I end up with. This is my fist mech guys- so be gentle! :) It is a construction and exploration mech, with one strong gripper arm and a modular sensor arm. These are DEFINTELY a good step towards mecha for LEGO, they even have WEAPONS!!! this can only be a good thing. Sorry to not get back to you sooner. I use a file called dat2lws to convert the model or sub-model into a lightwave scene. I use the objects from the scene to put together the full model. I saw these on a transformer seller's site. text: These are fairly rare Pre-Transformers. These are toys by Takara that came out in the U.S. in 1984. Very innovative Jeremy...I love the concept of galactic shipping. It combines the fun of trucks/trains into the fantasy of space. Amazing job...such a versatile design. Hmmm, well if you don't mind reverse knees here two small ones that don't have bionicle in them. And converting them to a human style knee would be pretty easy. Beast is more playable than Orc. quick question, do the mechs have to be in minifig scale. big gun contest = 12" long gun, but the mech is in nanofig scale... ooooohhhhhhhh, I've been waiting for this one.
