  Re: Recent Mecha Thoughts

(...) See? It hasn't been 30 seconds after my post and there is already a person confirming exactly what I said. I am not surprised that people don't want to see mechs, and note, I have never even critisized Lego for not having a mecha theme. It is (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Recent Mecha Thoughts

Ok let me step into this one since I just happened across the thread via the web interface. I have no idea what "Mecha" is or are, I see these creations that y'all post to brickshelf and such, but I still don't know what really makes a mecha a (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Recent Mecha Thoughts

(...) 1. Hmm... It's probably a good thing I din't catch that. I just made a little experiment on my mother. I showed her a military space ship and a military mech and her responce was that the mech was simply too good and it was too obvious that it (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Recent Mecha Thoughts

<snip> (...) Ya, my mom refers to anything I make (mecha-wise) as a "goomer". And Shiri just gives me crap about it. :-) Women just don't get it. ;-) (...) I thought about this for a bit, and first I didn't agree with the "most innovative" thing. (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Diablock Mecha

(...) I've actually seen this before in Hobby Japan but I thought they were mega blocks or something. I didn't realize there was a toy company entirely built on the concept of mecha and construction toys. Nice. If only Lego would embrace mecha. (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Recent Mecha Thoughts

(...) I agree with Steve some people just aren't into it. I'll stereotype a bit and and say the demographic that ain't into it is a bit older. Is there anybody in the .mecha group that's over 35? I doubt it. Another thing I've noticed is some people (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New MOC: NH-1 'Eisen'

(...) Thanks for the compliments Stuart! (...) hey, I dunno about that, there are many builders out there that are many times more skilled than myself, I think that if ou gave this idea to yourself, or Mladen etc., you guys could work wonders.   Re: New MOC: NH-1 'Eisen'

Thanks for the comments Ryan! (...) I'm sorry, but it's not for sale. ;-D (...) Well, I got two tie/y-wings for christmas, and a bunch of small SW sets, and alot of those sets have lot's o' dark Grey, (...) thanks for the compliments Ryan! (...) I (...)   Re: New MOC: NH-1 'Eisen'

snip (...) Really? How do you figure? The tiger really lacked in some key design elements, and the skeleton within was terrible, maybe it's just a matter of personal taste. Still it is an excellent mech and it (...) I won't be including this mecha, (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New MOC: NH-1 'Eisen'

(...) Me too, there have been a flood of recent mecha creations coming out, I'm getting excited! (...) It's Chris Snead's ingenious idea actually, I would have been lost without it, (URL)I LOVE the way you used the small antennae as pistons in the (...)   Re: New MOC: NH-1 'Eisen'

(...) Thanks for teh compliments Sun! (...) yeah I geuss so, although I think that I could have done more with some of the joint areas if I had gone with less articulation, like the hips for example.   Re: Gomgile; The GG Mech, a Grey - Green Biomechanoid.

Eric, I am speechless, Wow, this is another masterpiece, what can I say but Wow? there are so many awesome parts to this baby, I think that the head has to be my favourite though, it's incredible, it is so life like, and menacing, This is yet (...)   Re: New MOC: "Ranger" Dual-Role Mecha

Wow! This was the last thing I was expecting to come home to. :-D I love the colour scheme. so original, and it suits the mecha so well. It is such a clean design, greeblies, coupled with smooth, bulky armour plating. I really like the arms and the (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Recent Mecha Thoughts

(...) Well, from all of the many real-life mecha I've ever seen... 8?P What I mean to say is, isn't it the details that MAKE it realistic? Seriously, it's one thing to build a fire truck that looks like a fire truck, but when you get into the (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Recent Mecha Thoughts

(...) Nah, I wouldn't say so. Poeple just have different tastes. I could say the same thing about trains. To *ME* trains all look basically the same, and I'm sure Mecha all look the same to certain people. Afterall, Mecha are mostly humanoid (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New MOC: "Ranger" Dual-Role Mecha

(...) Heh! Thanks Stuart, the blue-brown colour scheme was the whole driving force behind this mecha. (...) Thanks again! Yep, the lack of eye(s) really makes the mecha, like you said, "cold" and "calculating". It's a war machine, not a toy! ;-) (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Recent Mecha Thoughts

Hmm.. it may have something to do with the apparent stereotype that anime is just a mere baby's cartoon. It has to do with the fact that anime are often connected with mecha, as several cartoons are based on such creations (Gundam series, Zoids, (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Recent Mecha Thoughts

Having been busy with BricksWest, I haven't had a chance to be very active here, let alone the rest of LUGNET (or build anything new, for that matter). I just wanted to tip my hat to some of the wonderful creations that have been introduced here (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Gomgile; The GG Mech, a Grey - Green Biomechanoid.

Eric, I am going to miss seeing the GG take shape over the next six months.. how long was it, exactly, from gestation to creation? You could have honestly just left it at the head and it would be an amazing achievement. Then the torso, arms, feet, (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build.sculpture)
