  Re: New mecha: Minotaur

(...) Thanks Bobby. I got Mavica FD87. I like it, but I still yearn for that manual focus. I haven't figured out how to best take extreme closeups yet. (people in .publish.photography, any help here?) (...) Yeah, this is a far cry from your usual 2 (...) (23 years ago, 27-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.publish.photography)

  Re: New mecha: Minotaur

(...) The pictures look great, which camera did you get? (...) Lovely, this is really something (but then again you alrady know that). Sorry I can't offer more comments, but I really don't have any expertise in origami mecha. (...) So this is what (...) (23 years ago, 27-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  New mecha: Minotaur

Hi all, To celebrate my new digital camera (Santa didn't bring me one, so I splurged bigtime and went to get my own today. That means Ramen noodles and Kool-Aid for the next 6 months or so. ;-) I took some pics of the Minotaur. This is of the (...) (23 years ago, 26-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  who needs inspiration?

For all of you who like building various futuristic war machines and various four-legged mecha there is a game for the gba that has a very large amount of inspiration pieces. Those who don't want to buy a gba and the game can just get the emulator (...) (23 years ago, 26-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: all my mecha

(...) I really like the ball joints and my first mecha design. I used 6 per mecha. The mecha was small enough that a single ball joint was enough to hold the body up. but occasionly when the pose is extreme or too much off ballence weight is applied (...)   The New mecha I...built, but can't load picture of

I have created a new mecha the pelvis section is only 1 stud wide. It looks awesome. I'm thinking of a name but won't ask for suggestions till you see what it looks like. If I got a dinky web cam, would I be able to take a good picture of it? (...) (23 years ago, 23-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: all my mecha

about an hour after i posted i had this great idea to use the ball joints from the legs and arms of the old throw bots. normally i would never mutalate pieces like this but my dogs think they make great chew toys, anyway I just use them in (...) (23 years ago, 23-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: all my mecha

Welcome to LUGNET Jacob. Of course I am still generally a new name in mecha building here, new compared to builders like Mladen, but nonetheless I usually display my mecha here. About the reliable hip joints, that is something I have been (...) (23 years ago, 23-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New mech: Sensei Trainer

(...) Bravo, bravo. I think you've got the essence of something here. Barebones model. I particuarily like the "eye" What I find most intriguing about this guy is the potential. Think, not only is it a trainer but build on it a little and you have a (...) (23 years ago, 22-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Evangelion construction

(...) You can use the old Throwbot gear boxes. Two put together and then click in a technic beam on one end. My Q model uses this in the legs and hips giving it slender and strong legs. Someone suggested to me that the design would benifit an EVA (...) (23 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  all my mecha

this is my first post, and i just wanted to ask if anybody has any reliable hip joint designs for medium to large bots? (23 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Evangelion construction

(...) It depends on the width of the legs and the total weight of the model. If you have thin legs (no more than 4 studs) and a light Eva, using several click hinges in parallel will do the trick. Ebay is a good sources for large numbers of click (...) (23 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New Alpha Team Set

(...) Yeah, I was a bit too harsh yesterday, sorry about that. It is these other factors that I am protesting against. Many people liked Star Wars Episode I for example, but the majority of old Star Wars fans were uterly disgusted by it. In the same (...) (23 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Evangelion construction

<snip> (...) I think some of the Technic Cyberslam has purple technic pieces, and if you dig hard enough, I think there is some sand blue in the Red Planet Protector from the Life on Mars stuff. Purple and Sand Blue might work together. However, I (...) (23 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New mech: Sensei Trainer

(...) More? Jeez, the only way I could've gotten more poseability out of this would've been if I'd put in a spine. Pretty much EVERY other joint in the human body is represented here :) I actually thought about a spine, but if I'd done that, I (...) (23 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Evangelion construction

(...) Which pieces are the right ones, though? I need strength and compactness in one package, so anything along those lines that isn't too rare would be useful. (...) 1) Gundams rock. I like them a lot. But anything that I do based on that would (...) (23 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Evangelion construction

(...) Well, the skull's about 6x6x4 without the jaw joint or armor plating. I'll estimate at least 8x8x6, maybe a bit larger with the chin :-) (...) Quite large, yes. Up there with Brian Cooper's designs, I suppose. (...) Wait... there *are* purple (...) (23 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Evangelion construction

(...) Congrats! Welcome to the club! More mecha postings are always welcome. (...) No problem. I'm sure we'll see it in time. Tough design to work on, btw. I've tried it myself and can't get it to work the way I want to. (...) I feel your pain. :) (...) (23 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New Alpha Team Set

(...) I actually like it too. Horror of horrors! :) (...) Those new arms are spiffy. I expecially like that canopy--that's a beautiful thing, really, and I'm delighted it's available in smoke. How much did that set cost? (...) I like the assortment; (...) (23 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
