Why not have both sides appoint their judges, and then have the judges--off
LUGNET and without input from either party--decide on a set of rules, with no
possibility of changes?  Both guys agree by naming judges to participate in
whatever the judges decide on as rules.

And yes, I think that a contest is a lot more positive a direction for .mecha
than all the smack-talking that's happened.  The smack has oscillated between
entertaining and just plain irritating.
