Moving back to admin.terms since this is not an off topic debate.

The images do not *clearly* violate TOS if they have been moderated. Considering the size and obviousness of the lettering, it can’t be argued that the admins didn’t see it, and as such they are implicitly stating they are not in violation of that site’s TOS. I’ve seen far worse here on Lugnet, on MAJ, and on Brickshelf that no one has complained about.

As for your statements about “growing incivility in our culture,” that doesn’t really apply here and just seems designed to push people’s buttons.

From the TOS:

“You agree to not use the Service to:

(a) upload, post or otherwise transmit any Content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortuous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another’s privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable;

(b) harm minors in any way;”

I think 4 letter expletives can reasonabley considered “vulgar”, “objectionable”, and harmful to minors.

I realize that some people use expletives simply as punctuation when they speak, but that doesn’t make their common utilization any less civil; it merely reflects the growing incivility of our culture.

JOHN

I’ll set the follow-up to .debate.
