Alrightey then,

There's been so many good responses that I've decided to ditch the poll idea
as unecessarily delaying the whole process. I can't wait to see some
creations. So...

Instead of the poll I'm making the parts list longer and splitting the
competition into two categories, both with at least a first prize.*

Models must at least make a passing resemblance to some sort of spacefaring,
futuristic craft.

The first category will be decided purely on points. Each part on the list
will be given a points value between 5 and twenty. Each time a different
part on the list is used, points are awarded. (ie. using a part a hundred
times counts for the same as using it once. Extra points can only be awarded
for using a different part. I'm looking for variety here people:)

The model with the most points wins. At this stage I'm thinking it'll be a
lot more interesting if the actual points each part is worth is kept a
secret until entries close. That may change.

The second category will be decided on a much more subjective basis, it
being the "most creative use of" category, the "most beautifully designed
model despite having some weird part on it" category, the "how on earth is
that thing CONNECTED?" category. Surprise me.

And that's about it. Just to give you something to do over Christmas I'll be
taking entries until midnight December 31st. Entries can be in any
reasonably standard format image file, and include as many photos as you
thing adequately shows the model, as long as at least one shows one or more
of the lame parts. Text descriptions are entirely optional, but I at least
would like to know the name of the builder, and if it has one, the name of
the model. Include as much peripheral detail as you'd think the viewing
public would like. Email them to mailto:allistermclaren@bigpond.com**

So without further ado... The parts:

1.The Wild West tree stump. http://peeron.com/pics/inv/custpics/30131.jpg
2.The engine piston heads from a technic engine.

3.Football.
4.Either of Nick Bluetooth's (galidor) legs.
5.Throwbot disk/s.
6.Manta Ray.
7.Row boat.
8.A sail
9.rope bridge http://peeron.com/pics/inv/custpics/2549.jpg
and last, but not least
10.the stupid white picket fence you get in the newer blue tubs

10a.(for Tony Knaak only - let's see how many of those capes you can fit on
a spaceship. :)

Cheers, Allister

* actual prizes are to be announced, but it'll be in keeping with the spirit
of the competition ;)

** use some discretion here folks. I'm only on dial-up so please don't
overload me with multi-megabyte messages. Keep the image size at or below
800*600 and .jpg seems to compress the best. Stay tuned for Lame Parts III -
The Webpage.

Hmm..very interesting. I think I'll be hard pressed to come up with the parts as I've basically dwelled in Space all these years. Um, that didn't quite come out right. At any rate, it will be fun trying to made do with what parts of these I have. (...) (22 years ago, 18-Nov-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests)

Hi Allister, Firstly I have to say this is a way cool idea. There's nothing like a bit of restriction to release the creative power. I've already started on a few concepts (My Moonbase construction is suffering as a result :) ). Secondly, I have a (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests)
