Does it look like the motor at
http://w3.one.net/~hughesj/technica/registry/9volt/71427.gif? It's much
newer than the old type (apparently it first appeared in 1997), and is
included in the Mindstorms set. It has internal gearing and flywheel and
other stuff, which gives it less speed, but more torque and more power.
There's a site somewhere which gives exact values for the speed and torque
of both types of motor, but unfortunately I seem to have lost it :-(
