I thought they were called
1x2 Plate w/ 2 Hinge Fingers
1x2 Plate w/ 3 Hinge Fingers
there...
If something is a 3-finger hinge, wouldn't it mean that it's a [full] hinge
that has 3 fingers [total]?
Say, speaking of which, Joshua once told me that there used to be a long
time ago a variant of these where there was a 1-finger male half and a
2-finger female half. TLG seems to have replaced these with, respectively,
the 2-finger male half and a 3-finger female half -- probably for strength?

| (...) This is true. My two copies of 8846 Tow Truck has these. They tended to break pretty easily, so it's a nice thing they were substituted. (URL) (26 years ago, 14-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)
