Ok, it's fairly obvious I wasn't clear enough (I can't even figure out what I
meant <grin>) so here is a second attempt.  The part I am using as the major
component of my foot design is the (aucZILLA designation)1x4/2x2 corner-connect
plate hinges.  Using 1, 2, and 3 to represent stud locations from the three
hinge-plates, I will attempt a clearer ASCII drawing.  'x' represents the
equilateral triangle formed by the three sides - hence the original title of my
post.  The '/' are there because LUGnet tried to interpret this as a .dat file
without them.

/  1 3     3 2
/   1 3   3 2
/       x
/      1 2
/      1 2

Essentially, a perfect 120 "y".
That still doesn't quite get the angles right, but I think it gets the point
across.  I have connected the hinges together with 2x2 plates over each of the
three 'sides' so there is no freedom of motion in the hinges (alternating these
layers makes for a very solid structure), and am trying to figure out a way to
anchor a single larger plate to all three orientations.

My original question still stands - does anyone have a solution for me?

(...) connect (...) my (...) these (...) Have you tried a Technic 3 blade rotor? It's not *quite* what you are trying to build, but I think it should be workable. Duane (25 years ago, 13-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)
