Actually, the day I ordered, it came out to $85 each.  Unfortunately,
shipping on 2 of them and a few small Paradisa sets was near $70!  Still,
at $115 brand new including shipping, it beats getting them at auction.

Since I already have 2, 1 for each main model, I have to decide what else
to build now ;-)  I do plan on keeping the pieces segregated from other
sets, so that if prices go ridiculous in the future, I can throw it all
back in the box and sell it to buy new Lego.

This discussion of the 8880 and 8448 Super Cars has been great.

I don't own either yet, and find it difficult to decide between buying
the older 8880 at auction or the 8448 new.

Get an 8880 from DYA-shopping quick! Somewhat less than $100 plus
shipping.
