Actually, there are Real World times when planes have to have their tails propped up to keep the nose gear on the ground. Below for instance is a row of KC-135 aerial tankers:

You can see the poles below the tails of each plane holding up the rear to stop the nose gear from rising. So you can just pretend that your plane is fully loaded in the cargo area and needs to be supported. :-)

(...) Ooh good find. I think one of the pictures I found of an Antonov undergoing engine maintence also had extra struts at the back (maybe one engine isn't enough to rebalance it). Tim (18 years ago, 4-May-07, to lugnet.build, FTX)
