  Re: LEGO Cicada (bzzz...zzz)

(...) Well done, a very compact design. Great arms...eh, I mean legs ;-) With friendly greetings, M. Moolhuysen. (20 years ago, 31-May-04, to lugnet.build)

RE: Giant LEGO Mosaic In Owen Sound, Ontario

(...) Bill, sorry about that. Please forgive a silly Mindstorms specialist for not knowing that there was actually a mosaic group. :-) I WILL post pictures once the final mosaic is assembled... Cheers, Ralph (20 years ago, 31-May-04, to lugnet.build.mosaic, lugnet.build.sculpture)

  Re: Paladin mk2 Hardsuit

(...) Wow. I quite liked the original, and like this even more. As the others have said, the sign of an excellent builder is taking what advice works for your style, going back and thinking out what was an exceptional model into a supberb one. Those (...)   Re: LEGO Cicada (bzzz...zzz)

(...) Very nice work!!!! I, too, have built a cicada, I just haven't gotten any pics yet. I used pieces from the Wild Collection set (409?/41??) released last year. Frankly, I think your use of minifig arms better reflects the legs of the little (...) (20 years ago, 31-May-04, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: Pyramids!

Hello Erik, thanks for your compliments and annotations. I surely would like to have some more tan slopes ;-) And in using them I discovered that you don't really need the tan bricks to build the original Pyramid, so that does give some perspective (...)   Brictoria Barracks is up and running

G'day all, I've finally got some piccies together, and thought I'd try and get some input from other Lugnet-ers about what I've built (It's not all that much), and any ideas that could be used to improve the models. Although there's not too many (...) (20 years ago, 31-May-04, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.build.military, FTX)

  Announcing the MOCC

My Own Castle Competition. We are hereby happy to announce the official castle-building competition for the Castle Room at BrickFest 2004. The competition is pretty straightforward, but a lot can be done with it. It is the hope of the BrickFest 2004 (...)   Re: Paladin mk2 Hardsuit

(...) Now that is a PCS hardsuit. Very awesome job with the rework. I really like the look of the lower legs/feet and the back of the torso. All in all, very solid design. Nifty melee weapon he's got there, too. Some more designs like that, and you (...) (20 years ago, 31-May-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: LEGO Cicada (bzzz...zzz)

(...) Marc, I have tons and tons of these around my apartment in Annandale, and yes, the Metro was one of the first things I thought of. The next was that I wanted to record the sound and use it as a spacedrive engine noise at some point, but I (...) (20 years ago, 30-May-04, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: Focke-Wulf Fw-61

(...) Looks awesome, as all your MOC's One tip: the original rotor blades seem to be longer. Perhaps a Technic 3-blade rotor with some 1*8 tiles would do the trick. Other than that again you managed to capture the feel of the real machine judging by (...) (20 years ago, 30-May-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.build.military)

Re: The Skrylitch - Technic Mecha

(...) Thank you Nate. I appreciate that. FYI- the word "Mecha" is both singular and plural. (...) heh, I was trying to fit one of the masks from the Hockey Players behind there. Instead all you can see is the gears that articulate the hips. (...) (...) (20 years ago, 30-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: The Skrylitch - Technic Mecha

(...) Thank you, making use of all that is possible is where my head is at. (...) When working/building, I always follow the: one technic beam and two plate level pattern. This technique helps because a known connection pattern develops. Other than (...) (20 years ago, 30-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Paladin mk2 Hardsuit

Troy, Excellent rework to finish a great start on a MOC. Good job taking the pointers people gave ya and making a better MOC. You are now ranked PCS Mecha Commander.   Focke-Wulf Fw-61

It has been a "mid-exam" productive weekend and the result is my version of the Focke Wulfe Autogyro Fw61. Like my earlier Kolibri I was hoping for a "as-near-as-damnit" representation. I am quite pleased with the result but, as always, welcome (...) (20 years ago, 30-May-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Paladin mk2 Hardsuit

I wish I had my references to hand, but here's what I'm given to understand from my background: "Mark" refers to the point in progressive development where a system or piece of equipment is "frozen"--sort of like the "high water mark" or the (...)   Re: Paladin mk2 Hardsuit

(...) It's short for "Mark" which is a term that's been used for at least 150 years in the military (and elsewhere?) to denote advances or upgrades. As to where it originates, I am not sure. Maybe something to do with marking progress? Definition 7C (...) (20 years ago, 30-May-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
