The greatest MOC ever ! ?!?!

Well maybe not ever :) But this is the greatest thing I have ever made ! I'm not sure if people have thought it before or not. I find it really great cause you never have a brickspliter when you need it, it seems. Really handy at public events I (...) (21 years ago, 31-Mar-04, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Appleseed 4/17/2004

(...) I think it looks great. I didn't like cel-shading at first but this is a step in right direction. Also, I think that it mimics Masamune Shirow's artwork perfectly. Computers are just tools and shouldn't be considered a technique or style. (...) (21 years ago, 30-Mar-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Possibly a new, somewhat dastardly SNOT technique...

(...) That's brilliant. Cutting pneumatic tubing is a 'pure' method IMO. Various lengths of tubing are one of the more usefull parts in fact, but this never occured to me. Well done. They'd also fit inside the tubes of 2+ wide plates wouldn't they? (...) (21 years ago, 30-Mar-04, to lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

Re: Possibly a new, somewhat dastardly SNOT technique...

(...) <snip> (...) Yeah, go for it! If you look around in .trains and .technic you'll find lots of MOCs with "non-standard" lengths of tubing. In fact, Lego fully condones the cutting of tubing (at least the pneumatic kind), as kits are supplied (...) (21 years ago, 30-Mar-04, to lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

Re: Possibly a new, somewhat dastardly SNOT technique...

(...) That's really cool, similar to this method: (URL) as long as everything LEGO made neither you nor your mom are evil or unpure. -Orion (21 years ago, 30-Mar-04, to lugnet.build.schleim)

  Re: New MOC- Pirate APC

Nice work Soren. I like how you made it all bulky and tough looking. The colours work, as do the greebles (gotta love those smoke dischargers). However, I think it needs a vision block. Or maybe more optical sensors, preferably in blue or cyan. (...) (21 years ago, 30-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.military, FTX)

Re: Possibly a new, somewhat dastardly SNOT technique...

(...) I'll go with "C", it's valid but you're evil anyway... But I'm not very pure, I already cut flex system tubing. (21 years ago, 30-Mar-04, to lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

Possibly a new, somewhat dastardly SNOT technique...

Hello fellow Schleimers, while working on my six-wide Ford F-150 (1 stud to 1 foot scale, seen (URL) here>) I discovered a SNOT technique that I wound up not using...mainly because I'm not sure how "pure" it is. It uses a tiny piece of tubing: (3 (...) (21 years ago, 30-Mar-04, to lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

Re: Storing Minifig Torsos and Heads

(...) Huh. Having not actually tried this, I was not expecting that result at all, but it does make sense (not that there's any point arguing with practical experience). (...) Another posibility might be to fill a page with some unpopular torsos (...) (21 years ago, 30-Mar-04, to lugnet.storage, lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Re: New MOC- Pirate APC

(...) snip (...) Very cool, I like the shape, and the colors. I think it's greebled really well too. I feel like maybe it could use a ladder or something on the back, it seems like it's kinda a long drop from the hatch to the ground. -Dan Rubin (...)   Re: New MOC- Pirate APC

Cool! I, too, like the colors, and the shape and size. Very swoosh-along-the-floor-able. The stack of 2x2 dishes reminds me of a bellows - like giving it a good bop would launch some ordnance. James Wilson Dallas, TX (21 years ago, 30-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.military, FTX)

Re: Storing Minifig Torsos and Heads

(...) I like. I picked up some 30-compartment pages for $0.69 apiece, and three fit nicely into a 1" binder. (URL) did find, though, that they wanted to spontaneously pop out (I guess most coins aren't 1 stud thick :-), so I stapled each flap after (...) (...) right? I do use similar boxes (although I'm a Shimano man, myself) for torsos of which I only have 5--10 (Dragon Masters, etc.), but when you only have one or two of each type I think that most tackle boxes are too deep---half the torsos will (...)   Re: New MOC- Pirate APC

(...) snip Very good moc. I like the colors, the slick exterior and the precise detailing. What I think is really missing are headlights. Does it have a detailed underside, to? I also had a close look at your other great mocs in your gallery. I must (...) (21 years ago, 30-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.military, FTX)

  Re: Appleseed 4/17/2004

(...) Not as much as you might think. The Animatrix has an extremely informative look at what is involved in the anime tradition, and a lot of the uniquely distinctive characterstics are merely byproducts of the many budget-saving techniques that (...)   New MOC- Pirate APC

Not much of a name, I know. (URL) (Click on the image, my puppet! Click it!) There's no real interior, I focused mostly on the exterior while building. The half-stud plate to the left of the hatch is for mounting weapons, but at the time of these (...) (21 years ago, 30-Mar-04, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.space, lugnet.build.military, FTX)

Okay, my $.02... Mladen: Agree, CG+anime=ugh, 99% of the time. See Blue Submarine No.6 or Vandread for good examples. On the other hand, there are anime like Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell that use CG very well. Jason: I think what Mladen's (...)
