Re: B.I. Joe: Cobra Flight Pod (Trubble Bubble)

(...) I just thought of another thing. LEGO should make 4x4 hinged domes. That would be great. (URL) j o n (URL) zemi.net> (URL) the-shipyard> (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

(...) Once again my almost total lack of any GI Joe knowledge leaves me in the dark, but I know a funky cute MOC when I see one. I wish I could ditch my car tomorrow and take this into work instead.   Re: New MOC: JuggerGnat

Shaun, The minifig arms as fingers are just awesome. I can't comment on the rest because I just keep staring at the hands. Totally bitchin'!   New MOC: 40 stud diameter Spiffcraft

The weekend before BrickFest, the GA was sharing his Grand Spiffcraft with me, and I was inspired to create my own giant Spiffcraft. I originally planned on doing only a minifig version, but my brother encouraged me to create a scale Spaceman Spiff (...)   Re: B.I. Joe: Cobra Flight Pod (Trubble Bubble)

(...) Holy spit! What a cool model! Very well done (yes I had one of these) with nice detailing...I really like the pilot's instrument panel design. The lack of studs also leaves a really nice effect. So what's next, the Defiant Space shuttle:)? (...) (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

  Re: icosahedron in soccer-ball style

(...) Wow...I love it. What an enormous untaking. What a great meditative project. Makes me want to try a five-color icosidodecahedral net version. Or maybe some other stellated forms. Your model proves anything is possible. --Dave (jot and jab) (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

Re: Omnibus Update: Castle (MM & 3CS) and Miscellaneous

(...) love seeing in lego because they are so difficult to produce without them looking like blue or red houses instead of tents. Well, this one looks like a tent! bravo! also, the rose sculpture is pretty nice as well. -Lenny (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build)

  icosahedron in soccer-ball style

Inspired by Steve DeCraemer's (URL) S.P.U.> (picture by Rob Hendrix) first shown at Brickfest 2003, I decided to build a bigger version. Six BrickLink orders, over 4000 pieces, 180 triangles - and this is what I came up with. (2 URLs) Gallery (after (...) (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX) !

Re: Moonbase Module: Mauser Support Facility

(...) While a very fun read from the both of you (my kind of comedy), if this must escalate any more, you boys want to go duke it out in o-t.debate? Thanks. -Chris (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Moonbase Module: Mauser Support Facility

(...) David you just don't get it. Where I come from, smack is the time honored rhetorical tradition of trash-talk, including, but not exclusive to mom-bashing.   Re: Moonbase Module: Mauser Support Facility

Hey Keith, Whether it's five unfolded fingers across the face or a shot in the arm, smack is just bad for you and everybody else. The impression that I get, judging by your writing style, that "smack" is just another way of saying that you have a (...) (21 years ago, 14-Sep-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Moonbase Module: Mauser Support Facility

(...) Well as far as the actually MOC is concerned, it is as usual, awesome. I like the boxyness. It works on this. (doesn't always) As far as the 'mech'... (...) Smack?! Ppfft.   Re: Posable Horse Minifig Scale (or close enough)

(...) If you drop it, it will break. ;) Also, if kids were to play with it with the usual gusto that goes with Lego I wouldn't put money on it lasting too long. However, it can be handled reasonably, and as seen in this view: (URL) holds it's pose (...) (21 years ago, 14-Sep-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build)

Re: Posable Horse Minifig Scale (or close enough)

(...) Yup, the whole neck structure is the Achilles Heel as far as presentation is concerned. I'm going to post some alternates. One that's before me now offers even more movement up/down, so I may stick with that. My first attempt was truly ugly -- (...) (21 years ago, 14-Sep-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build)
