Mini-fig scale F-16 Fighting Falcon —Ryan Parrish
I recently built a very detailed version of the U.S Air Force's famous F-16 Fighting Falcon. It was built entirely with Lego and I spent about 20 hours perfecting the design. No glue was used. I welcome all questions and comments. Check it out on my (...) (18 years ago, 3-Jul-06, to lugnet.announce.moc) !

Re: Mini-fig scale F-16 Fighting Falcon —Ralph Savelsberg
(...) There are a few things that I don't like. The shape of the nose is very odd and the jet intake is too boxy. Also, the lower part of the fuselage is simply too big compared to the rest of the aircraft and -no matter what exactly minifig scale (...) (18 years ago, 6-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Mini-fig scale F-16 Fighting Falcon —Ryan Parrish
(...) Ralph, I appreciate your constructive critisism, in reference to my F-16. I will be posting pics of my highly detailed F-14 Tomcat on Brickshelf soon. The entire fuselage of my F-16 was built around the front landing gear to make the jet (...) (18 years ago, 7-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Mini-fig scale F-16 Fighting Falcon —Ralph Savelsberg
(...) Hi Ryan, Don't get me wrong. I have seen some other F-16s build in LEGO, and in many respects yours is the best. I to have been building with LEGO for about 20 years as well, and like you I value details and realism. I have to admit that (...) (18 years ago, 8-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Mini-fig scale F-16 Fighting Falcon —Mattias Martensson
Hi Ryan and Ralph I think you both build great models of modern jets. Also good to see this group becoming more active. A question to both of you what scale do you aim for? (1 stud to 1 feet = 1:38 is what I want to use but my models tend to be a (...) (18 years ago, 8-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Mini-fig scale F-16 Fighting Falcon —Ralph Savelsberg
(...) Hi Mattias, Bryce's aircraft models are great and the Tomcat is one of my favorites. It is one of his favorites as well. I had seen your Tomcat based on Bryce's design on Brickshelf before. It looks very neat. Bryce has designed a B-1B bomber (...) (18 years ago, 9-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Mini-fig scale F-16 Fighting Falcon —Magnus Lauglo
Hello, I can only echo sentiments there are some very nice fighter MOCs here and it's nice to see build.military get a little more activity of late. I used to build lots of fighter planes a lot as a teen, and while I don't think I ever approached (...) (18 years ago, 10-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Mini-fig scale F-16 Fighting Falcon —Ralph Savelsberg
(...) Hi Magnus, It wasn't my intention to start a contest on who builds the best figher. As you say, it is always about balancing a number of sometimes conflicting requirements. In many cases, if you want something to be really nicely shaped, (...) (18 years ago, 10-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Mini-fig scale F-16 Fighting Falcon —Ryan Parrish
(...) Fighting Falcon. As I mentioned before, the entire structure was built around the landing gear and my intent was to make it fully retractable, fully concealable, and sturdy. The main (or rear) landing gear retract at about a 30 degree angle (...) (18 years ago, 9-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Mini-fig scale F-16 Fighting Falcon —Timothy Gould
--SNIP-- (...) I'm not sure I agree that Lego is boxy however you use it. With good sculpting, SNOT and lots of revision it should be possible to get quite a smooth shape at the size you are using for this. This was a fairly (URL) quick build> of (...)      (...) Oops, I forgot to mention my Flickr page at: (URL) I found this website a couple of weeks ago and I think it is pretty cool because you can upload as many pics as you want for only about $25.00 per year.      (...) I buy all of my Lego parts on www.bricklink.com. I haven't bought an actual Lego set in years. I just order the parts in the quantities and colors that I need, so I don't accumulate a large inventory of un-used or un-needed parts. Ryan (18 years ago, 26-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)
