Bulk brick sales at outlet stores indeed would indeed be a likely explanation.
One of the reasons why I haven't used bricklink is that I am pretty sure that if
I do, I'll become hooked. I have browsed around and seen loads of parts of which
I thought "ooh, I'd like yo have some of those. I wonder whether they have this
or that part in old grey as well?", etc. The Bricklink bug is highly addictive.
