BTW, if you don't mind me asking, where did you get those small slopes you used
for the navigation lights, RWR blisters and the small antenna in front of the
fin , http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/50746 ?
According to Peeron, those haven't been made in medium stone. Well, they list
the Night Racer as incorporating two in mid stone, but actually owning a copy of
that set, I know those are actually dark stone.

I buy all of my Lego parts on www.bricklink.com. I haven't bought an actual Lego
set in years. I just order the parts in the quantities and colors that I need,
so I don't accumulate a large  inventory of un-used or un-needed parts.

Hi Ryan,
Thanks for the reply.
I am happy that you replied to my question, since I was a bit afraid that I
angered you with my comments on your F-16. If I did, I apologise. I certainly
didn't mean to annoy you, but my vision of a LEGO F-16 is quite different from
yours. That's probably obvious if you have seen my F-16N.

I know bricklink, but have never actually bought anything through it. Your reply
does make me wonder where whoever sold you those slopes via bricklink obtained
them, since -as I mentioned- there are no sets that contain them.

You clearly have different approach to building than I do. Although I do quite a
bit of planning before I start building and have a pretty clear idea of what
parts I will need, what I build very often is determined by the parts that I
happen to have. If I _really_ want to build something particular, I might buy a
set that contains the required parts. Still, there is a fair bit of improvising
as I go along.

I also buy new sets every once in a while, mostly because I happen to like the
parts, even if I don't have a clear plan for what I will use them for yet. I
bought a Titan XP at a discount a while ago, because I wanted to have more
blue-grey. I recently bought a Star Wars B-wing because I wanted to have more
grey, giving me new options. So, I usually have quite a large supply of parts
which I don't really need at any particular time. Still, they are likely to end
up in some MOC in the future. For instance, the B-wing had these new-fangled
dark stone curved wedges http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/41748 .  When I bought
it I had no clear idea what I could use them for. Now they're used for the nose
of my F-16N.

Cheers,
Ralph
