Standing on the shoulders of Giants —Anthony Sava
Thus Spake Zarathrustra! Formeathan - The Stormbringer ===...=== For the past two months, I have been working on a project of great importance to me. I don't expect the castlers to be too excited about it, but I think the Mech heads will like it. So (...)         Re: Standing on the shoulders of Giants —Leonard Hoffman
(...) -snip- Anthony! WOW! To save from the gushing you are sure to recieve from this project, let me say that I'm super happy now that I'm going to Brickfest this year! I'll get to see this badboy in person! Only criticism: his neck seems a bit (...) (21 years ago, 19-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Standing on the shoulders of Giants —Anthony Sava
(...) Not too much gushing yet. I guess he's just not as impressive as I thought without some proof of him not being just a statue. But it really doesn't matter, I didn't rebuild him for the glory, I did it to prove to myself that I could make (...) (21 years ago, 20-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Standing on the shoulders of Giants —Mark Neumann
Woah. You really need a pic of you next to that monster. I kind of get the scale, but I need to see a human body next to it to really get the scale. I suspect this thing is really, really big. Woah. So how much mobility do you get out of it? Can he (...) (21 years ago, 20-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Standing on the shoulders of Giants —Anthony Sava
(...) Nah, not me. I hate having my picture taken. I have taken more pictures of the draogn though, with a minifig in the shot to show scale. That's the best that I can do on that front. He is big, though. Somewhere over 150 studs long. (...) (...) (21 years ago, 20-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Standing on the shoulders of Giants —Twan Theeuwen
Hi Anthony, (...) That'd be an excellent soundtrack to accompany the MOC your showcasting here. (...) You did indeed. However you may not have noticed you've grown to be a giant of sorts yourself. This creation is a vast improvement from an already (...)          Re: Standing on the shoulders of Giants —Anthony Sava
(...) I suppose, though I really don't like to think of myself that way too much. A lot of what I do isn't as LEGO-centric as a lot of the other work on Lugnet. Story writing is a lot different than devoting your time only to building. (...) Thanks (...) (21 years ago, 21-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.mecha)

More Poses, Construction Pics too —Anthony Sava
Wondering where all the pics went? They're here, with all new poses and inner working pictures. (URL) PLMKWYT! --Anthony (URL) (21 years ago, 21-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: More Poses, Construction Pics too —Richard Noeckel
(...) Seriously...SO PERFECT!!! I'd love to be able to create that... But i don't think i have the parts. (looks like a whole lot of Technic went into that) I wonder if you could create a dragon that beautiful at half the size. Would the (...)           Re: More Poses, Construction Pics too —Anthony Sava
(...) Wow... Thanks! :) (...) You'd be surprised. The number of technic bricks I used is actually pretty low, since I was doing my best not to have any exposed technic holes or anything. I ended up just using basic 1x and 2x bricks for the majority (...) (21 years ago, 22-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: More Poses, Construction Pics too —Eric Sophie
(...) Mr Sava, I am humbled and bedazzled all at the same time. I am so glad there is a person like you creating these Dragons. Not only is your desire to learn honest, but I see you having so much fun doing so. This newest creation will surely add (...)          Re: More Poses, Construction Pics too —Anthony Sava
(...) You flatter me too much. Comming from you it's a true compliment. However, I have a feeling this is as big as I'm going to be building, so my kingdom will have to get comfortable with it's new glass ceiling ;) (...) I'm surprised at how many (...)         Re: Standing on the shoulders of Giants —Christopher Snead
(...) This really is quite nice! You should be proud of such an accomplishment - not many mecha builders attempt a model on such a large scale, much less do so as skillfully as you have. Congratulations on completing such a wonderful model! (...) (21 years ago, 21-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Standing on the shoulders of Giants —Anthony Sava
(...) Thanks much! I'm glad you liked him! I have to admit I am rather proud of him. Every once in a while I catch myself looking over at him just to gawk. I gotta stop doing that! Thanks for the reply! --Anthony (21 years ago, 22-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Standing on the shoulders of Giants —Matt Hein
(...) Well, I must say...leave it to Anthony to generate a wicked draconic project, scales included. (...) Well, that seems to have been accomplished...the only concern now is movement articulation. Can this dragon be set in a variety of poses (...)          Re: Standing on the shoulders of Giants —Anthony Sava
(...) What can I say, I'm obsessed. (...) I posted a page a day or so after I posted the dragon. Did you happen to see it? There are more pictures with other poses in them. Here's a link in case you didn't: (URL) If you did, then, I'm not sure how (...) (21 years ago, 22-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Standing on the shoulders of Giants —Dave Johann
Excellent Job Anthony, but I do have a bone to pick with you here....what's with the cloth wings?!?! That doesn't look like Lego to me...I was hoping someone else had finally come up with a strong stable reptillian wing design. :( I guess I wait (...) (21 years ago, 24-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Standing on the shoulders of Giants —Anthony Sava
(...) Thanks much! I will admit the cloth wings are a bit of a cop out, but look at the original wings. I much prefer the way it is now than before. But yes, I agree, it would probably have been better made from plates. However, in my own defense, (...) (21 years ago, 25-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Standing on the shoulders of Giants —Alan Findlay
(...) Anthony, About the only way you can top this is to produce a stop-action animation of this behemoth moving. I'd love to see it move about. Of course, I don't expect to see it fly (except with the help of Photoshop). Great work!! Alan (21 years ago, 26-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Standing on the shoulders of Giants —Anthony Sava
(...) I'd love to see him move too, but I'm not about to go and start filming ;) I seriously doubt my ability to pose him on three legs. It would be next to impossible I think, not with him standing up, unless I used a column to hold up his weight (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jul-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
