| | Hi all, Here's a little vehicle I made last week, my Classic Space Lunar Explorer: (URL) think of this as being in a line of vehicles with Mobile Tracking Station 452 and Mobile Lab 6091: (URL) design started with the roof. I was looking at those (...) (22 years ago, 5-May-03, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.space) !

| | | | (...) (snip) You know this looks waaayyy too much like the old Lost in Space Chariot to leave alone!! Pretty cool! (...) That's one of the details that I really like about this...that and the overall smoothness of the Explorer. (...) Well, if you (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-03, to lugnet.space)

| | | | | (...) Thanks. I'd never watched Lost in Space, either the original series or that movie, so I just looked this up. You're right, there is a resemblance. Actually, I even thought about putting a bubble dome on top, which would have been even more (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-03, to lugnet.space)

| | | | (...) Bruce, This thing is actually kinda cute. To me you captured the Classic Space aesthetic and I really like the boxy-ness of this vehicle. The detailing is simple and not overdone. -Andrew GardenSLUG (22 years ago, 6-May-03, to lugnet.space)

| | | | | (...) Thanks. Well, I started in Lego in the era of the "blue-box with wings" style of spaceship design, so I guess the boxy aesthetic is in my blood. Bruce (22 years ago, 7-May-03, to lugnet.space)

| | | | | (...) Thanks. I agree on the color. I just don't have any of that piece in trans yellow or trans green (are they even made in that color?). I did consider a design using two of this slope: (URL) I do have in trans yellow, but the shape didn't fit (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-03, to lugnet.space)

| | | | (...) Ah, you've found my flaw. Actually, there is enough flexibility in the bricks that you can pull the door open without too much pressure. Closing it again is a bit of a pain, though. But, hey, you want a pretty airtight door, right? I mean, (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-03, to lugnet.space)
