    Volkswagen B3 —Eric Joslin
Having recently acquired a digital camera, I want to start documenting some MOCs I've had sitting around for a while. The first one can be found here: (URL) feel free to tell me not only what you think about the model, but about the presentation as (...)         Re: Volkswagen B3 —Todd Lehman
(...) Say, it looks rather familiar. Was this at the NELUG meeting at BC in April? (...) The pictures are a bit dark and fuzzy -- if you shoot in sunlight or open the windows on a bright day like today, they'll come out a lot clearer. --Todd (24 years ago, 19-Oct-00, to lugnet.space)

         Re: Volkswagen B3 —Eric Joslin
(...) Thanks! (...) Yes, it surely was. Shiri took some pictures of it, and as far as I know they're still on her website somewhere. (...) Yeah, unfortunately I took them at about 11:30 last night, so the only light I had was the halogen lamp in my (...) (24 years ago, 19-Oct-00, to lugnet.space)

         Re: Volkswagen B3 —Shiri Dori
(...) Yup! On this slightly disorganized page: (URL) didn't really care for making it, umm, organized. ;-) (...) The shots look pretty good to me, just that I would never guess it was yellow if I didn't remember the model from April. ;-) -Shiri (24 years ago, 22-Oct-00, to lugnet.space)

        Re: Volkswagen B3 —Mark Sandlin
(...) Heh. That's cool. I love MOCs that give you that little "slice of life" in Space. I love the doors that double as boarding ramps, and the way the hover-jets swivel in the front. I generally like stuff that moves and opens tho ;^) Very nice! (...) (24 years ago, 19-Oct-00, to lugnet.space)

        RE: Volkswagen B3 —Bram Lambrecht
(...) I love the model! Orange is a nice color for it, even if it is actually yellow :) It really captures the look of a Beetle while obviously being a spacecraft of sorts. The thrusters aren't just tacked on... (Interstellar seems to stretch it (...) (24 years ago, 19-Oct-00, to lugnet.space)

        Re: Volkswagen B3 —Eric Joslin
(...) Thanks! (...) Argh. You're not the first person to say that. I guess I'll have to re-shoot it this weekend in natural light... (...) Well, see, the thing is, I... that is, they.... Yeah, well, I needed it to be interstellar for the purposes of (...) (24 years ago, 19-Oct-00, to lugnet.space)

        Re: Volkswagen B3 —Paul Baulch
Bram Lambrecht wrote in message ... (...) Pah! You know, it never ceases to mystify me about how people studiously point out which pseudoscience isn't "feasible" according to some arcane, unmentioned and most importantly _singular_ reference (...) (24 years ago, 20-Oct-00, to lugnet.space)

        Re: Volkswagen B3 —Eric Joslin
(...) Uh, wouldn't a Hyperspace Tunnel be made by a Wormhole Generator? :D eric (24 years ago, 20-Oct-00, to lugnet.space)

Lorbaat wrote in message ... (...) cross (...) Well, yeah I guess it could, but my point was that a spaceship needn't be built with one it has to lug around.... just like an automobile doesn't need to carry around a portable pontoon-bridge just so (...)         Re: Volkswagen B3 —Adrian Drake
(...) So, your world bases its spacefaring technology on something similar to Jumpgate technology from Babylon 5? That always seemed one of the more reasonable ways to get from point A to point B. Adrian -- www.brickfrenzy.com (24 years ago, 20-Oct-00, to lugnet.space)

        Re: Volkswagen B3 —Paul Baulch
Adrian Drake wrote in message ... (...) Well, my point was that they're all _possible_ ways, and because their pseudo-science leans so heavily toward the "pseudo" then there's lots of creative fun to be had imagining reasons why it was "the way it (...)         Re: jumpgate technology (was: Volkswagen B3) —John Gerlach
(...) This raises a question - how do you first get to the point where you build the new jumpgate? If it takes you years / decades / centuries to get there, it would still make exploration and expansion painfully slow. But of course once you've (...) (24 years ago, 20-Oct-00, to lugnet.space)

Re: jumpgate technology (was: Volkswagen B3) —Eric Joslin
(...) In Babylon 5, anyway, it works like this: There are two basic types of ships- big capital ships, which often have their own "jump engines", and smaller ships without. Either type of ship can use jump gates. However, niether kind of ship likes (...) (24 years ago, 20-Oct-00, to lugnet.space)
