LDraw.org 2004-03 Parts Update Now Available —Chris Dee
The 2004-03 parts update has been now been released. Whilst nowhere near as large as 2004-02, this has cleared most of the certified backlog on the Parts Tracker. What remains are mainly primitives which are not yet in use by certified parts. This (...) (20 years ago, 15-Sep-04, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.cad) !!

Re: Certifying sub-parts (was: LDraw.org 2004-03) —Ross Crawford
(...) Thanks Chris! But that reminds me of something I noticed recently. Quite some time ago, I submitted the parts x170, x171, x172 and x173, which together make up x170c01 (URL) the time it was decided they should all be in Parts, as they are all (...)          Re: Certifying sub-parts (was: LDraw.org 2004-03) —Steve Bliss
(...) Yes, generally we would release files like this as a group. But that is a manual check, and it is possible to miss occasional items. In the long term, it will work out alright -- we could resubmit x170c01.dat with fixed references. If we don't (...) (20 years ago, 16-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Certifying sub-parts (was: LDraw.org 2004-03) —Ross Crawford
(...) Yeah, I'm more worried about how much more difficult it becomes to certify, because reviewers need to modify all the references manually, and if they don't know to do that, they think it's broken and put a hold on it (like steffen). Is there (...) (20 years ago, 16-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Certifying sub-parts (was: LDraw.org 2004-03) —Steve Bliss
(...) We could, but I'd rather not; this is an exceptional case. In general circumstances, we'd consider x170c01.dat to be broken. It'd be nice if there was an easier way to tell the tracker about groups of files that need to be released together. (...) (20 years ago, 16-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad)

(...) Maybe comments could be left by the submitter somewhere to prompt you when preparing an update? Still relies on it being seen, I guess. (...) Yes, I see. I could re-submit them as x170 and x171, but I don't know if the system would let me? And (...) (20 years ago, 16-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LDraw.org 2004-03 Parts Update Now Available —Alfred Speredelozzi
(...) Maybe I am going batty, or there is something strange with Windows XP SP2. I don't know, but when I installed this update, the new files were written to C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\LDRAW rather than C:\LDRAW. Needless to say, the files can't be read by (...)         Re: LDraw.org 2004-03 Parts Update Now Available —Chris Dee
(...) Sorry - this is a problem with the archive. I will try and get it fixed. In the meantime I have temporarily withdrawn the update. Chris (20 years ago, 16-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad)
