Nah, sorry, you have to make a few more MOC’s before I’m really convinced (at which time I’ll probably decide that everything that can be made with them has been done)

To tell the truth, the reason I don’t like them because they’re not smooth enough... too angular at the junction between the belly and the “neck”, and you can’t even make a good round dome by putting two together, so actually buying TWO sets to get them might be a bit beyond my interest...

Cheers NB

Well, I’ll get to work right away then ;)

What about a distillery? It must be possible to distil a lot of Whiskey in such a dome ;-)

I’m with you as per these parts, it drove me up the wall that they didn’t make a circular dome...

Well what can one expect? There seems to be a magic boundary at around parts with a LxWxH>100 where parts turn lame (with a few exceptions above and a lot below) because they’re too big and recognizable to be used for anything else than the role they were originally intended for, unless you’re into capital (space) ships. BTW what made you post this MOC in .space? (Except for the exclusive reason that I wouldn’t have had the pleasure of finding it if you hadn’t?)

The angles look alright to my eye, but that’s subjectivity for you. I liked the Scorpion Palace enough on its own merits that the 2nd onion dome was a bonus, really. All those dark blue parts, and the white 6 x 6 bubbles, and the elephant... It could also have something to do with the fact that I’d seen the thing months before release (I love leaked pics) and had been waiting impatiently for it...

Yes of course, but I still think they should’ve taken the trouble of making the “shoulders” (by the arrow) of it more smooth; there is an edge where the two curves (neck and belly) meets, to avoid annoying some of us.

I got 4 bubbles and a lot of the blue plates in that P@B ;-) The elephant looked too ugly to me.

Cheers NB

(...) Heh, that would make an awesome moonbase-- Jack Daniel's Distillery, operated by his descendant Buzz Daniels. In PCS color scheme. Yeah. (...) Now we just need to simplify your working formula, make it sound snarkier, and then I can put it on (...) (20 years ago, 6-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, FTX)
