(...) Didn't Dak get zapped before he got squished. Either way, it is nice to he he went out smiling! Pat J (26 years ago, 8-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Great ideas

(...) You guys are making me smile now. And poor Dak, smiling blindly only moments before the big squish. Oh well he went out feeling like he could take on the whole Empire himself. And yes Johnny Thunder ought to be smiling too. Mark L (26 years ago, 8-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Great ideas

(...) I'll second that. Nothing makes me feel more like a happy little kid than a Lego smiley. That's a big reason why the Snowspeeder is my favorite Star Wars set- that smiling rebel. Sure, you could assemble your own, but it's nice to see that (...) (26 years ago, 8-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Great ideas

(...) Those were the good old days. A lego was a lego head, and they'd work anywhere. No stupid snarly faces, or snaggle-tooths, or constipated star heroes. Just uniform plastic happiness. :) Steve (26 years ago, 8-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Lego Mania back issues

Hey fellow Adventurers fans I am looking to get scans from some back issues of Lego Mania magazines. I am specifically looking to get scans of the Adventurers' comics from the following issues: Jan-Feb 1998 Nov-Dec 1998 Jan-Feb 1999 Jul-Aug 1999 If (...)   Re: Arctic Adventurers

(...) the (...) How about the Lost Continent of Atlantis? If you are going to find a lost civilization why not the mother of all legends. As for woolly mammoths I am not going to disagree that they would be a cool addition, and while we are wishing (...) (26 years ago, 8-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Arctic Adventurers? (was: favorite vehicles)

(...) Well, given that the Adventurers theme has so far depicted a world where mummies wander tombs and jungles are filled with perilous giant spiders, I imagine that any arctic setting would be "livened up" with a similar bit o' fantasy. Who knows (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

A lot of great ideas from Christian on future subthemes

Hey Everyone, One of our fellow Adventurer fans has a site that I can't plug enough. Among other things he has a section devoted to possible future subthemes for the line. His presentation and ideas are superb so go check it out at: (URL) really is (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: Favorite Adventurers vehicles (Re: 4x2ReVu: 5909)

(...) Yes, since the pieces are larger, and more specialized, they are going to cost more per piece. But the 'building enjoyment' tends to be directly related to the number of pieces, not their complexity. So I'd rather build a bunch with simpler (...)   Re: Favorite Adventurers vehicles (Re: 4x2ReVu: 5909)

(...) I felt they had poor color selection and a low piece count. Nothing that couldn't ultimately be fixed with a load of fairly standard bricks, I suppose. (...) Three sets of different size consisting of nothing but white bricks just doesn't do (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: I hate professor pith helmet

(...) Hooray Bruce! You said it! As far as all those extras go I would suggest using them for trade fodder. Someone like me doesn't even have a single witch or Redbeard, though I wish I did, and might be willing to get you something you need. Mark L (26 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: Favorite Adventurers vehicles (Re: 4x2ReVu: 5909)

(...) Why do you think that price per piece did go up on the sets? Is it the "juniorization", to use your word, of the larger less building intensive pieces? And what do you mean by inspired? (...) Well we all have our opinions. Did you like the (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: Great ideas

(...) '86 (...) hmmmm.... 'X-Files' rebel theme, perhaps? Now -there's- a Town theme I could grow to love! <grin> Cheers, Roger (26 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: Great ideas

(...) Yeah, I couldn't stand that... When I got my first Blacktron I sets back in '86 or '87 I had to turn all the heads around backwards so they didn't have the same silly "I'm so happy even if you pull my arms off" look. Actually, I kinda got used (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Great ideas

(...) Hey those are great ideas! I now have to find a bunch of ninja hoods and pirate scarf hats. I hadn't even thought of the Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan bodies. Think of all the people out there shuddering at the thought of using Star Wars toys for other (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: I hate professor pith helmet

(...) Lego has been poor at giving us the masses of common people needed to offset the special ones. I have 20 Witch figures. 15 Cap'n Redbeards. You can only mix and match so much. I've taken to buying heads, torsos, and other bits outside my usual (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: Favorite Adventurers vehicles (Re: 4x2ReVu: 5909)

(...) 'Interesting' may have been a bad word-choice. I *do* like the Amazon sets. Well, the blimp is kinda goofy. Comparing Amazon to Egyptian, the Amazon sets have a higher level of juniorization, the buildings are less inspired, and the (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: I hate professor pith helmet

(...) YES! I CAN'T STAND HAVING SO MANY JOHNNY THUNDERS! I *wouldn't* mind if his torso was a little more standard, since it could be used in a lot of places, but he's got a pistol right there! And I don't want Castle peasants or Town shoppers or (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)
