  Re: Suggestion: streamline highlighting interface

(...) Hi Jake, though I think it's not necessary to change something just because it's eight years old, especially when working fine, I'm currently working over the markup language into xhtml1.1 in combination with css2. !!! Please note that this is (...) (20 years ago, 14-Sep-06, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: Suggestion: streamline highlighting interface

(...) Not concerns, but personally I'd like to see a full updating of the Web interface. Todd's original design worked fantastic, I think, but it's been up for what? 8 years? I think it's time to employ some modern interface design tactics! Jake --- (...) (20 years ago, 13-Sep-06, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: Suggestion: streamline highlighting interface

(...) Of course there's another good reason to have a link to the post in the post itself for SMTP/NNTP... I'm always having to create a link when I want to reference another post (of course this speedup, even if you still have to scroll to the (...)   Re: Suggestion: streamline highlighting interface

(...) My guess would be that there are a number of reasons it is the way it is, although how likely they are intentional and of utmost importance, I can't say. 1) Making it be 3 mouse clicks decreases the chance that someone accidentally (...)   Re: Suggestion: streamline highlighting interface

(...) Hi Steve, I put this on the suggestion list. (URL) anybody has serious concerns regarding this suggestion? Leg Godt! Rene (20 years ago, 13-Sep-06, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Suggestion: streamline highlighting interface

The UI for highlighting a post currently requires 3 mouse clicks -- and is located at the bottom of the message body. If this was changed to a single click, and relocated to the top of the webpage, it would make highlighting just that much easier. (...) (20 years ago, 6-Sep-06, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Re: Post preview screen behaving strangely?

Hi Dave, (...) It sounds sense. To be honest, I forgot to make allowance for the phase of the moon, ever thought this would affect the (URL) Wolf Browser> only! (...) Ja, I know, that's why I think it's a combination of 3 things: Browser bug, Table (...) (20 years ago, 12-Jul-06, to lugnet.admin.suggestions, FTX)

Re: Post preview screen behaving strangely?

(...) Wow! Thanks for looking into this Rene, but I think you made the right decision - it has worked fine since I upgraded to 1.5 some time ago, and I forgot to revisit this thread. Anyone still using 1.0 deserves to have some weird behaviour ;) (...) (20 years ago, 12-Jul-06, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Re: Post preview screen behaving strangely?

(...) This has been a long-standing bug that has something to do with the phase of the moon, leap seconds, and whether the number of white house staff members that are currently speaking vowels is a prime or not. I've tried to hunt down this problem (...) (20 years ago, 12-Jul-06, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Re: Post preview screen behaving strangely?

(...) In Firefox 1.5 this doesn't happen. I've tried with Firefox 1.0 and was able to reproduce the mistake. Well, since the whole preview box is as wide as the subject line, I thought of a missing WIDTH-attribute in one of the TABLE- or TD-tags (...) (20 years ago, 12-Jul-06, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: List of known suggestions

(...) I just had a short glimps at the list so forgive me if these: New homepage for LUGNET (URL) old LUGNET homepage prototypes discovered (links to the temp folder are broken). (URL) already listed. nonetheless they would fit into the homepage (...) (20 years ago, 12-Jul-06, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: List of known suggestions

(...) Your updates look good. I think you should continue, as I am not around LUGNET enough these days to do it justice. ++Lar (20 years ago, 12-Jul-06, to lugnet.admin.suggestions) !

  Re: List of known suggestions

(...) While I don't have time to maintain the list right now, I'm more than happy to lend my long time UI/UX Web experience and community development mind to any LUGNET projects that might need or want it. I loves me some community chatter. Jake --- (...) (20 years ago, 12-Jul-06, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: Crossposting of Statistics

(...) Hi Dan, as I already wrote in email, I'm beginning to discharge all suggestions which were posted without opposition AND are listed on the Suggestion List with "Open" status. But it's obvious that things need discussion again before getting (...) (20 years ago, 11-Jul-06, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: Crossposting of Statistics

(...) Stuff like this: (URL) if it'll post on days where nothing was changed. (20 years ago, 11-Jul-06, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: Crossposting of Statistics

(...) I'm not sure if we want to spam everyone who's subscribed to l.a.d with these every day. Perhaps create a subgroup of .admin.statistics, so people who want to see that info could subscribe to that? (20 years ago, 11-Jul-06, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  List of known suggestions

LLL, I've made an update to the list of known suggestions: (URL) Larry gave up on this last year, but I find it very useful and intend to keep it up to date. Is anyone interested in maintaining this list? Larry again? Otherwise I will attend to it (...) (20 years ago, 11-Jul-06, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Re: World Lugmap needs an update

(...) Ciao Willy, could be :-) Seems last update was 5 years ago except a change on the european map (3 years ago). But more than that, it needs a face-lift first... (...) Ja, they're certainly an utterly niche site ;-) -Rene (20 years ago, 11-Jul-06, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  World Lugmap needs an update
