  Re: Top stories threshold

(...) I would rather see the spotlight to honor my filter settings personally. Can that be done? -mark (22 years ago, 21-Sep-04, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: spam blocking

(...) Actually I jsut figured out that changing my email will not really do anything as my posts with the old email addy will still show the old email addy. Maybe a fix would be to force the anti-spam on both sides of the '@'? Mark (22 years ago, 21-Sep-04, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: Top stories threshold

(...) Hey, thanks for the explanation. Do you think it would be wise to give some automatic points to lugnet.build? I only say this because so many people (myslef included, really) say they would rather see MOCs in the top stories list rather than (...) (22 years ago, 21-Sep-04, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: Top stories threshold

(...) Correct. Crossweighted by age, so that newer items are generally preferred over older items. You'll see something climb up the list as more and more people spotlight it, then fall as it ages.   Re: Top stories threshold

(...) You could be right. But a higher threshold would encourage more people to spotlight the on-topic posts, in order to get them in the top stories. You can investigate how adjusting the threshold might affect the results here (URL) I'm pretty (...) (22 years ago, 21-Sep-04, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: Top stories threshold

(...) I think the Top Stories function works on just evaluating the Top 10 spotlighted posts. If no one spotlights anything, then a post where the author spotlights himself could make it to the Top Stories page. It might be a good idea to make it so (...)   Top stories threshold

Please consider adjusting the spotlight threshold for including posts in the top stories list. It seems to me with such a large membership (and growing fast), that the current threshold is way too low, resulting in more stories making it to the list (...)   Modify 'Top Stories' home page to honor filter

With all of these new topics appearing, I've started to add tweak my filtering settings ((URL) Unfortunately, I need for the home page to honor these settings. I should not see 'top stories' for groups that I have filtered specifically out. Is this (...) (22 years ago, 21-Sep-04, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: spam blocking

(...) I would like to tack on my support for this also. Having the spamblock in the first part of the email addy is just pointless for those of us with our own domain. If there are no plans on fixing this problem can you please let me know so I can (...) (22 years ago, 21-Sep-04, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Re: Is LUGNET what you really want? (Was: Re: Lavender Brick Society)

(...) Replying to myself..., and Wayne, again. ;] Wayne upon re-reading my post and your reply, it dawned on me that perhaps you were in fact addressing my question, "Is LUGNET what you really want?", with your view being yes, and to those that it's (...)   Re: Is LUGNET what you really want? (Was: Re: Lavender Brick Society)

(...) Wayne, I don't know if your question is meant to be rhetorical to the general members, or if it's directly specifically at me. If the latter, then unfortunately it reads like you missed the point of my post (or I failed to make it well). I was (...)   Re: spam blocking

(...) This is still an issue. Can I please get a ruling from the PTB if this is (A) not a priority or (B) definitely not going to be implemented? Thanks, Amy (22 years ago, 20-Sep-04, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: Geobra Society

I'm active on both LUGNET and Playmoboard, and I see a distinctive difference between the two communities: LEGO is about building, so LUGNET is dominated by male engineers. LUGNET is American, (...)
