Dunno if anyone will be interested in this, but I wrote a small newsticker app: (URL) designed as a netscape6/mozilla sidebar, but can work on any browser - if you cannot use sidebars, it'll just pop up as a new window. :) Dan (23 years ago, 19-Nov-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp, lugnet.off-topic.geek) !!

(...) thing (...) settings? I thought of that, but that would require it to access LUGNET user info, which (as it's runnin on peeron), it cannot do. First of all, this is going to completely change the way I read Lugnet. Just for kicks, I tried the links to add the sidebar in Netscape 4.78. It spewed a message about it only working in NS6, but gave the option to launch it as a pop-up window. The (...) (23 years ago, 21-Nov-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

I have noticed one strange thing. When you click on a link from the ticker in IE it opens up another window (with another ticker) for the news item. This second window will not do the same thing however. You can use the ticker in this window and the (...) (23 years ago, 21-Nov-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

(...) Dan, My Brickshelf sidebar is not getting updated anymore. I upgraded from Mozilla 0.9.6 to 0.9.8 and ever since, the Brickshelf sidebar has been static.
