  Re: Official vs. unofficial postings

(...) I think that's a great idea. (...) You *could* do that. but I think the message is more important than the package. What matters more to me is the signature rather than how it got posted...   Re: New Scenes at BrickDreams, and Thanks

(...) It's fine, but you might want to set the 'Followup-To:' header to point at lugnet.cad.ray if you expect the discussion to wander in that direction (like, let's say, in-depth discussion of the tools you used and things like that). Otherwise, (...) (24 years ago, 25-Mar-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.publish, lugnet.admin.nntp)

  Official vs. unofficial postings

(...) I've been giving this a lot of thought, and upon your recommendations, Larry, I've decided to change the way I post. I haven't decided on an official LUGNET admin sig yet, but for starters I'll definitely be making the 'From:' header be an (...) (24 years ago, 25-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

  REQ: New Group(s)---lugnet.off-topic.test Heirarchy

G'day Todd, I am requesting that some additional "test" groups be established to facilitate testing of cross-posts, follow-ups, trims, etc. While am I not having any particular technical problems with these techniques, there are some nuances of (...)   Re: lugnet.design

(...) Hmm - actually I think lugnet.build.theory might be a better name, in keeping with .market.theory The idea being to have a group that talks about the design ideas in an abstract way without being full of MOC announcements & praise (which is (...)   Re: lugnet.design

(...) OK, I'll bite... What is wrong with .build? Maybe you arn't going into the subgroups of build? There is .build.arch for architecture, and .build.mecha for Mecha etc.? Sorry but just suggesting a group without expaining Why it is a good idea (...) (24 years ago, 24-Mar-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.nntp)

  Re: lugnet.design

(...) Not a bad idea... but this should go in lugnet.admin.nntp I believe... However, as a hierarchicalist, I'd suggest lugnet.build.design instead. FUT: lugnet.admin.nntp (24 years ago, 23-Mar-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.nntp)

  Re: Bionicle is not Technic

(...) Definitely not 8?( However that is only a feature of the web interface. Viewing news.lugnet.com/technic by default actually displays the technic group and all it's sub-groups.   Re: Reducing the level of chatter in lugnet.lego.direct

(...) What browser was used? With Netscape at least, I regularly see it give up after a transaction is only partly done (I've never experienced this during a post, only during a read). The more I experience HTTP, the more I feel it's a broken (...) (24 years ago, 22-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

Re: Reducing the level of chatter in lugnet.lego.direct

(...) It is strange. I checked the server logs and what's shown in the incoming webpage form log matches the message that appeared. In other words, what the server received when you clicked "Post Message" on the web is exactly what your browser sent (...) (24 years ago, 22-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

Re: Reducing the level of chatter in lugnet.lego.direct

Well this is a first. Only part of this message got posted. LUGNET was extremely slow last night, bogging and timing out left, right, and centre. I never thought that only part of a message could end up being posted. Man I really don't want to type (...) (24 years ago, 22-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

Re: Official vs. unofficial LEGO postings

  Re: A letter to Todd

(...) Not much of an apology. I hear all sorts of nonsense on TV. However, I have to sense to know what is on TV is not necessarily right or wrong.
