| Suz & Todd, Have you seen messages, sometimes several hours old, jumping up the newsgroup hierarchy in the last day or so? Maybe I'm completely off my rocker, but I believe I've seen this happen at least three times now, in different groups and (...) (23 years ago, 27-Aug-01, to lugnet.admin.general)

I see one -- which Suzanne posted and cancelled herself and reposted. Which do (...) (23 years ago, 27-Aug-01, to lugnet.admin.general)

I thought that too...but even that, or re-confirming the message via e-mail (if I'm understanding that right, haven't used it myself...it seems like a message can be confirmed more than once...I've seen several instances where someone confirms (...) Suzanne started a first one and then canceled her message, and then started a new one about a half hour later. So what you saw that looked like it disappeared (...) I started getting these "you posted via the mailing list, see all these other ways of posting". I've never used (...) (23 years ago, 28-Aug-01, to lugnet.admin.general)

| (...) No, that is not true. Superseding is technically mostly the same as canceling and reposting the article. The new article gets a new Message-ID and a new article number. It's not like editing an article at all. I've used Supersedes on LUGNET a (...) (23 years ago, 30-Aug-01, to lugnet.admin.general)
