In lugnet.people, Jesse Alan Long writes:
I believe that netiquette, as
with etiquette, is meant to make people feel inferior to other people and is
useless, trivial, banal, and above all, hurtful to other people.  whatever
happened to just plain and simple respect of other people?

A good EXAMPLE (say it with me, EX-AM-PLE) is that I never started a
sentence with, "You sorry son of a *****, *******, ****** ******* *******!"

The sentence was showing how rude Tim was being with me in the letter,
Geordan, when he said some other choice words to me.  I erased the e-mails
because I simply got tired of Tim being rude to me.

I was trying to point OUT a rule of netiquette, not trying to violate a rule
of netiquette OR a rule of Lugnet.  Mladen and other people will simply
flame me act like cavemen until they croak from the planet Earth.

this is the type of twisting of words that is common from JAL.  This is
exactly why diplomacy does not work.  We have tried being nice, and he isn't
stopping.

People will keep misinterpreting me because they believe that I am an
ignoramous that is incapable of being of any worth to Lugnet.

JAL has only argued more when we practically begged him to share his MOCs
with us.  There is only one way to interpret him.  Ignore his twisted logic,
and pay attention to his actions here on Lugnet.  Ban him now please.

People hate
me and will not accept any apologies from me and they will not change their
ways because they are dead set against being right in their own minds.
Maybe they will send some people to make me be quiet permanently if they
have enough money.

It is hard to follow because of his odd writing style, but he is making the
accusation that someone here on Lugnet will actually hire a hitman to take
him out.  This is ridiculous and not the reaction of a stable person (as he
himself has stated previous RE: his mental state)

Tim violated the rule of netiquette far before me and if anyone wants to
argue, maybe we can send this to Suzanne or some other person, perhaps a
legal mediator, or, if it comes down to no other alternative, a court room.

Tim had already admitted to using a swear word, but it must be noted that he
had the common sense to personally email it to you, not post it on a public
Lugnet board where children will read it for years to come!

P.S.  Geordan, I was not trying to say those words as a flame and I was not
simply trying to say them to say those words, I said them because I wanted
to show Tim that he did not need to put those words into a letter.

It doesn't matter that Jesse is claiming that he was using those words as an
example, he used those words.  Its that simple.  They don't belong on Lugnet
and neither does HE.

cheers!
Joel K

(...) What can I do to say I am sorry if I have violated three different areas of your rules? I did not mean to violate the rule about profanity but even so, rules have been broken by other people and I believe that there may be some bias on Lugnet (...) Hello, I have been reading a lot of the posts from Jesse Alan Long, and paying attention to the arguments going on there since they started. I have posted very rarely in response to him, mainly because I feel it has gone on far too long, as most (...) (23 years ago, 5-Aug-01, to lugnet.admin.general)
