Hmm. In what way does the presense or absense of a minimum price make a
difference? IMHO, only two things can make an OBO sale into an auction:
1. If the seller calls it an "auction" (i.e. "SBA" or "sealed-bid
auction") rather than an OBO sale, or
2. If the seller uses or has the intent to use offers received to solicit
progressively higher offers, i.e. pitting buyers against one another
in competing positions.
#1 would be like serving dinner instead of supper -- they both address the
same bodily need for food, but they have very different social contexts.
#2 would be like trying to sneak in some wine with breakfast.
