Re: UKLUG Prototype online —Todd Lehman
(...) Larry's absolutely right: .loc.uk is for discussing things relevant to the UK just as much as it is for people in the UK to discuss local stuff or just to get to know one another, etc. If there's a need for an exclusive UK-only group, then the (...)         Re: UKLUG Prototype online —Simon Denscombe
(...) How is a morality debate relevant to the UK then? If I read many UK newsgroups they just don't exist. (...) Well something has to be done - before the 'invasion' there was no bad feeling, no flamewars or anything - it was really friendly - (...) (25 years ago, 4-Dec-99, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: UKLUG Prototype online —Simon Robinson
(...) newsgroups (...) But what this is about wasn't really a just general morality debate. It was also about a specific Lego-related incident that occurred _in the UK_. Seems to me to be sufficient justification for having it in loc.uk, even though (...) (25 years ago, 4-Dec-99, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: UKLUG Prototype online —Simon Denscombe
(...) I know but who fueled it? What really annoys me is that I don't want to be anti-American but the way they blow things out of proportion is silly, the bottom line of The Entertainer story was, they made a mistake, we tried to capitalize, they (...)          Re: UKLUG Prototype online —Mike Stanley
(...) Wow. "ban the US imposters". Yeah, let's beat that nice online community drum a little harder from now on, maybe it'll make us miss sentiments like this one. (25 years ago, 5-Dec-99, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: UKLUG Prototype online —Richard Franks
(...) Time to move on I think - the sky is blue, the grass is green, the brick is red, etc, etc. Richard (25 years ago, 5-Dec-99, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: UKLUG Prototype online —Simon Denscombe
(...) I couldn't disagree more, the sky is black, the grass is also black, my bricks aren't all red. I hate these short days - I goto work, it's dark, I come out of work - it's dark. Carbon 60 (25 years ago, 5-Dec-99, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.loc.uk)

.loc.eu (was: Re: UKLUG Prototype online) —Todd Lehman
(...) I was wondering about the same thing the other day, when Mario needed to be able to post to a whole bunch of European countries. The bummer of it is, even though .eu isn't assigned an ISO country code AFAIK, the other continents that would (...) (25 years ago, 5-Dec-99, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: .loc.eu (was: Re: UKLUG Prototype online) —James Brown
(...) Erm, Umm, how many AFOL's are down there, anyway? I mean, really. And is it really necessary? The population of Antartica is exclusive to about a 1/2 dozen scientists squished into research trailers, so are these groups really necessary? Or (...)        (...) I don't know about you, but when I'm trapped all by myself and bored out of my gourd, I want either to play with my Lego or on the Internet (or on LUGNET, the best of both worlds).      Todd Lehman: (...) What about inserting a "continent" level above the country level?         Re: .loc.eu (was: Re: UKLUG Prototype online) —Simon Denscombe
