If you’re looking for exposure, you might also want to include the FUT groups
that you set in with the original post’s cross-posts, so that people reading
lugnet.loc.us.ny could see your message without having to read
lugnet.announce.

I’ve been guilty of posting local group meeting announcements in the .announce
group. Taking another look at the Charter, I guess I could agree that club meeting announcements don’t belong.
Would you be inclined to say that a club display/show post doesn’t belong in
that group either? What about a report and pictures from those type of events?
One positive from seeing club events in the lugnet sidebar is that for the last
CLB meeting, it did get spotlighted by some and a person who might not have seen
it otherwise saw it there, checked out the post and came to the meeting.
Maybe there is call for a new group: announce.club where clubs could post
meeting, show, etc announcements.
