Um, I hate to be picky, but for future reference, could we NOT have these sorts of posts get highlighted/spotlighted? Granted I don’t know if there’s something special about this NYCLUG meeting that makes it worthy of general LUGNET attention, but I’d hate to start seeing local LUG meetings filling up the top stories sidebar on LUGNET-- just seems like something that the *general* LUGNET populous wouldn’t be very interested in, unless they happened to live in the area.

If you’re looking for exposure, you might also want to include the FUT groups that you set in with the original post’s cross-posts, so that people reading lugnet.loc.us.ny could see your message without having to read lugnet.announce.

(...) I've been guilty of posting local group meeting announcements in the .announce group. Taking another look at the (URL), I guess I could agree that club meeting announcements don't belong. Would you be inclined to say that a club display/show (...) (20 years ago, 15-Sep-04, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

(...) Um, is the sarcasm really necessary? I have now figured out that LUGNET's "organizations" group is the way to go for these announcements.
