  Re: moonbase inprogress teaser

I have a 100 MHz computer, connected to the Net via a 56K modem dialup, with an old scanner that I got second-(or third-)hand for about $25. It works fine. My Lego collection is OK, but not the biggest, and I can't just go online and buy bulk when (...) (22 years ago, 28-Aug-02, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.space)

  Re: moonbase inprogress teaser

(...) My mom has a cheap scanner hooked up to her 166 MHz computer with 16 or 32 MB of RAM and it works fine. --Bram Bram Lambrecht bram@cwru.edu www.bldesign.org (22 years ago, 28-Aug-02, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.space)

  Re: moonbase inprogress teaser

(...) Well, to be honest with you, I did leave out the part about my older brother also having a claim on the collection and he is not as nice as me. He tends to dislike huge vessels, which is why me building such a large one is like pulling teeth. (...) (22 years ago, 27-Aug-02, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.space)

  Re: moonbase inprogress teaser

(...) Fair enough, but situations like this strike me as reminiscent of the habit of school teachers to encourage questions, even if the student is reluctant, since other students might have the same query. Is it better to have twenty people email (...) (22 years ago, 27-Aug-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: CLSOTW question

I'm pretty ambivalent about CLSOTWs (other than looking at them), I do have some comments: (...) This seems reasonable. Continued activity on a great site does deserve repeated recognition. (...) On the above two I do have a problem. What if two (...) (22 years ago, 27-Aug-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: moonbase inprogress teaser

As others have mentioned, I think it is high time for this discussion to stop in the public forum. If you feel someone is being overly disruptive, I suggest a private e-mail to the Lugnet administrators. But I also suggest you examine if simple (...)   Re: CLSOTW question

(...) Actually, I thought I saw the numerical results for last week's poll before this week's poll went up. Maybe this was a glitch in the system, or maybe I was hallucinating. I like the idea of a site staying up for a set number of weeks. (...) (22 years ago, 27-Aug-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: moonbase inprogress teaser

(...) (URL) To be fair to the constituency, though, Jesse has offhandedly speculated that he has any disease we can name, and he mentions "suspecting" that he has Asberger's. With all due respect to Jesse and to mental illness in general, it's not (...) (22 years ago, 27-Aug-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: moonbase inprogress teaser

(...) Ok, I took the time to do some reading on asberger's syndrome, and what I said there isn't exactly fair. Cause it's wrong. :P Now, I'm not sure what I think... On one hand, after reading about said syndrome, I can understand some of his (...) (22 years ago, 27-Aug-02, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.space)

  Re: CLSOTW question

(...) Some of my original thoughts on CLSOTW, contained here: (URL) still may work. I know I ranted a whole lot then, but maybe this time it will be different. ---...--- How a site becomes CLSOTW: (Tuesday, Week 1) 1. Anyone who wants can nominate a (...)   Re: moonbase inprogress teaser

(...) Even so, it's still probably not appropriate, in my view, anyway. I know you were just trying to help, but still. (22 years ago, 27-Aug-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: moonbase inprogress teaser

(...) Jesse has posted before about the possibility that he has Asberger's, or I wouldn't have mentioned it. --Bill. (22 years ago, 27-Aug-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: moonbase inprogress teaser

Jesse- I'm going to throw in my 2 ¢ here to try and turn this negative thread into a constructive one. The reason Dan, Steve etc.. get frustrated with you is not because they want to single you out; not because they dislike you or want you out of (...)   Re: moonbase inprogress teaser

(...) At least someone knows the true me and thank you, William, for understanding me. Living with Asberger's Syndrome, or at least suspecting it, is not an easy task to live with in your life. Steve never has to wake up and feel scared and knowing (...) (22 years ago, 27-Aug-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: moonbase inprogress teaser

(...) Bill and all, I think it is best if you take this conversation off-line. People may be offended by speculation of the mental status of another poster on-line. Jude (22 years ago, 27-Aug-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: CLSOTW question

(...) Personally, I think that nominees should stay on the list until they win, or some fixed interval expires, whichever comes first. --Bill. (22 years ago, 26-Aug-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: moonbase inprogress teaser

(...) I think he probably has a mild case of autism or Asperger's syndrome, but that's just a lay opinion. I don't think he's deliberately trying to be difficult; I think it's just hard for him. --Bill. (22 years ago, 26-Aug-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: CLSOTW question

(...) It's not a general rule, but it often works out that way due to repeated nominations or a lack of new ones some weeks. It would be nice if there were a more formalized way of tracking/handling nominations/submissions. Any ideas? --Todd (22 years ago, 26-Aug-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

  CLSOTW question

Todd, I was just wondering how the CLSOTW nomination procedure works. I just looked at the page and it looks like the three nominees are the two that didn't win last week plus another one. Is that the general plan--once something is up as a nominee (...) (22 years ago, 26-Aug-02, to lugnet.admin.general)
