Re: posting preview (was: Re: Double the Fun)

(...) It can't be IE 5, or it's a configuration option (and I didn't find it just now), I'm running IE 5 as I type this and I can go back and forth no problem. There IS behaviour on some server generated pages where IE will prompt you to repost the (...) (26 years ago, 1-Aug-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

posting preview (was: Re: Double the Fun)

(...) How about an automatic edit box below the preview, with a pair of buttons on the left (preview and post) and a cancel button on the right (just like the FTX page editing thingie but with different button labels)? That way you could just (...) (26 years ago, 1-Aug-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: preview

(...) Second that. (technically "First" that, as Kevin's seconding my earlier request, but what the heck, just do it!) ++Lar (26 years ago, 31-Jul-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  preview

Todd, Thanks for adding the preview function. Can we also have a post button for when we don't want to preview? The deal is, when I'm including a link I want to preview so I can test the links. When I'm not including a link I don't want to preview (...) (26 years ago, 31-Jul-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Later May-June 2000 issues of Mania Magazine DID Include a disclaimer

(...) Indeed. I was reading too fast, thanks for the clarification. It's certainly of historical interest, at any rate. ++Lar (26 years ago, 30-Jul-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Later May-June 2000 issues of Mania Magazine DID Include a disclaimer

(...) Actually, no, what Rich is talking about is _new_ news. (At least to the best of my knowledge.) What was discussed before was that the July-August issue did contain a disclaimer to make up for the mistake in the May-June issue, but what's new (...)   Re: Later May-June 2000 issues of Mania Magazine DID Include a disclaimer

(...) I tried hard, but couldn't dig up the ref... (failure of imagination on keywords) but this was already mentioned and discussed at some length. My take was, it was nice that they put the disclaimer in, but it would have been a lot nicer if they (...) (26 years ago, 29-Jul-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Web interface to LUGNET news moving from www.lugnet.com to news.lugnet.com

Re: Web interface to LUGNET news moving from www.lugnet.com to news.lugnet.com

(...) The member pages will stay on www, not move to news, right? If so, when we include articles in our FTX pages will anything change? I assume that you'll make them work just like they do now (leave out the "(URL) but I wanted to make sure. Ben (...) (26 years ago, 28-Jul-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

Later May-June 2000 issues of Mania Magazine DID Include a disclaimer

A relative of mine received his issue of the May-June 2000 Mania Magazine late last month and it did include the disclaimer. The disclaimer was featured on the last page under his address. I will be posting a scan of the page before 10:00 EST. -Rich (26 years ago, 28-Jul-00, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.announce)

Re: Web interface to LUGNET news moving from www.lugnet.com to news.lugnet.com

(...) Actually, that's only about 1/3 of the reason. Separating news from the main site also helps solve a bunch of current problems and avoid a bunch of new ones. For example, having news.lugnet.com distinct from www.lugnet.com now makes it much (...) (26 years ago, 28-Jul-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

Web interface to LUGNET news moving from www.lugnet.com to news.lugnet.com

This is just a quick "heads-up" to let you know that some things are going to be moving around a bit on the LUGNET webserver. In order to make room for a newer, friendlier LUGNET homepage while keeping the current news-focused homepage easily (...) (26 years ago, 28-Jul-00, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.admin.general) !!

Re: Suggestions for posting articles using web interface

(...) Yes, please do that! meanwhile, remind people of that in the text at the top of the preview "this is letting you see how your message will LOOK, but isn't guaranteeing that it will post successfully..." ++Lar (26 years ago, 28-Jul-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Suggestions for posting articles using web interface

(...) Cool. Saw it in action, nice. Now give us both a post AND preview button. :-) This lets us post the quickies quickly, as well as circumventing the large message problem you allude to below. (Power users) <intersect> NN3 users) (is the (...) (26 years ago, 28-Jul-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Question about searching (for "2.1.4")

(...) BTW, when I went looking for the message, I first tried "LDAO 2.1.4". As you know, that didn't work. I found the message by searching for "LDAO Steve Bliss Win98". It's all in the keywords. Including the author's name is frequently useful when (...) (26 years ago, 28-Jul-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Suggestions for posting articles using web interface

(...) Another caveat: if there are any errors (like, for example, if a message is addressed to a group which doesn't exist), it won't tell you that on the preview page, because it doesn't really know about any errors until after it actually submits (...)   Re: Suggestions for posting articles using web interface

(...) There's now an intermediate page: in place of the "Post Message" button there is now a "Preview Message" button. Clicking that brings you to a mock-up page using the same display code as the "real" article would use once it appears after being (...) (26 years ago, 28-Jul-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Question about searching (for "2.1.4")
