Hi folks, I have an opened copy of 8277 (the biiig Technic robot) that I'd like to trade or sell, but I have no idea whether it's complete. The present pieces are still in bags and a box, but whether there are any missing inner containers is (...) (25 years ago, 7-Jul-99, to lugnet.admin.database)

I think that it would be unwise to use words such as vertical clip or gable in part nomenclatures. The gable end piece was designed to be used to complete the gable of a roof, yet it might be used for an entirely different purpose. A 1 x 1 with (...) As you say, for different applications the best name to use can vary for a piece. Even, if one wants to call a 1x1 brick a (...) (...) I think this is a good idea. If such database is hosted on Lugnet, or a clear link to another place everybody can use the same names when they want to auction/buy/sell/trade pieces. Actually subject line says all. How about making a move about it? Many efforts ongoing around the community requires this. The first examples that come to mind are piece auctions, set inventory database and Lego CAD studies. We have already several (...) I was starting to inventory my sets, unfortuanately after two hours of data entry into Excel (stupidly without any saves), my system decided to go south, 113 sets down the drain... (I also lost a list of corrections to the Lugnet data base for about (...) (25 years ago, 3-Jul-99, to lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.general)
