Re: Problem solved! (was: Is there a problem with the Lugnet sets database search engine?)

(...) Hello Dan, It works for me too, now. Why don't I just kill myself...? ...for trying to look for sets that simply don't exist and then complain about it not working! Stupid me; I simply made typo's when I tried to get an overview of the 2005 (...) (20 years ago, 14-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.database, FTX)

Is there a problem with the Lugnet sets database search engine?

Hi, I happen to use Lugnet mostly because of it's great database functionality and I became a member, mostly to be able to keep record of my own collection. Both this Lugnet sets database and Brickset.com (if I may add freely) are like the Yellow (...) (20 years ago, 14-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.database, FTX)

  Polybag scans

When scanning a (thin plastic) polybag set for addition to the guide, first please insert plain paper or cardboard, cut to size. This prevents the graphics on the back of the bag from showing through. (20 years ago, 13-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.database)

Re: Is there a limit to dupes of a set number, ie 700?

(...) AFAIK, no limit. But it's possible that the search needs to be fixed. When I get a chance, I'll take a look. (20 years ago, 3-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.database)

Is there a limit to dupes of a set number, ie 700?

Is there a limit to how many of a set number may be in the catalog? Specifically, set 700 has a growing number of variants, the latest being 700_20: (URL) problem is that set cannot be found with a 700 search: (URL) thoughts are appreciated. Thanks, (...)   Part count for 4780

Is 500 pieces not 800 as given in the db See (URL) (20 years ago, 26-Mar-05, to lugnet.admin.database)

  question marks

When editing or adding set info, there's really no point in entering additional question marks down the hierarchy. All it does is cause more lines in the tree view. example: LEGO>DUPLO>?>?>? (20 years ago, 24-Mar-05, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Crop set pics

Please crop pictures like this one: (URL) upload. thanks -Suz (20 years ago, 24-Mar-05, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Change Anderson to Andersen

Hi, please change the name "Anderson" to "Andersen" in all set and category names in the database because the correct name of the guy is "Hans Christian Andersen". Regards Ronald (20 years ago, 19-Mar-05, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Re: Prices in the DB

(...) Occasionally, I have noted prices (for sets at least a few years old) that looked like S@H prices. IIRC, S@H used to list an inflated (including shipping) price, but recently (within the last year or two) switched to a 'plus shipping' price (...)   moving the ROBOLAB sets, and other notes

I'm altering the structure for ROBOLAB products so that teachers who search for all ROBOLAB products will get the supplemental sets in their return. So, it's moving from DACTA>ROBOLAB to DACTA>TECHNIC>ROBOLAB. This seems fairly reasonalble, though (...) (20 years ago, 16-Mar-05, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Carefully checking data before entry

Please enter your set data carefully and double (or triple) check it. For instance: (URL) are not 20 figures in this set, nor is its MSRP $1. -Suz (20 years ago, 15-Mar-05, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Re: Explore sets

(...) I should have put a smiley here. :-) (...) Oh, I forgot. We also have the icky problem of pictures of the packaging. This has happened many, many times (as everyone knows) and it's been difficult to decide what to do. Typically, I vote for (...) (20 years ago, 15-Mar-05, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Prices in the DB

Throughout the DB, values in the price field should always reflect the original MSRP of the FIRST YEAR of release. So, in a case like this: (URL) need to go back to the 1999 paper DACTA catalog and check the price there. In following years, as the (...) (20 years ago, 15-Mar-05, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Re: Explore sets

(...) That's a question with a very long answer. (...) Yes. Ideally, plus keywords. (20 years ago, 15-Mar-05, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Re: Explore sets

(...) What fixes need to be done to it? Allow a set to be in multiple categories, or something else? (20 years ago, 9-Mar-05, to lugnet.admin.database)

Read Me: when DACTA shows up at lego.com (corrections)

I will fix these shortly, using my paper DACTA catalogs. Meanwhile, FYI. ---...--- All of these sets belong together under DACTA>DUPLO. correct: (3 URLs) a 9XXX set appears at lego.com, it is almost certainly a DACTA set, and the prefered source is (...)   Explore sets

It irritates me that the LEGO DUPLO Farm sets still won't all show in one search. What should we do about these "Explore" sets that are actually DUPLO? a) file under LEGO>Explore> b) file under LEGO>DUPLO> c) fix database examples: (URL) originally (...)
