  Re: Worst of the worst

(...) Okay, here's the big issue: LUGNET is based on an NNTP server, and the news system does not support such a thing as thread locking, since threads are only made up by matching subjects (and some header info) in the very first place. Enhancing (...) (18 years ago, 15-Aug-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: I'm not incuded in treads

(...) It sounds to me like yet another reason not to use MSOE. :) But maybe we can figure out what's happening. Try this: Pick some message and reply to it using the Reply-to-All option as you normally do, but before actually sending the reply, (...) (26 years ago, 11-Mar-99, to lugnet.admin.general)

To Dan or Todd or Suz

Hi, I tried to keep this to email for the most part, but my password dilema hasn't been resolved. It's been a few weeks since I last emailed Dan Boger, but now his email adress here seems to be bouncing back. I hope I'm not being a pest. Anyway, (...)   2 Slight errors in the Pause Database

I just noticed that 7180 B-Wing at Rebel Control Center is listed as being an Episode I set. The only movie that the B-Wing appears is Episode VI. (URL) other error is for 7134 A-Wing Fighter. This is listed as an Episode IV set but I believe that (...) (25 years ago, 4-Nov-99, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Wrong group posting ruckus

Looking at what is happening with wrong group postings I have some thoughts. It seems to me that we need to sit back and let Todd handle the wrong group postings until he specifically asks for help. When that occurs, I think it would be wise to (...) (25 years ago, 9-Nov-99, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: the latest news

(...) These are some serious concerns, and a while ago, I was on the verge of leaving Lugnet. I think things have taken a turn for the better. Now that Todd has clarified that the purpose of the council is not to be a panel of judges, but to be a (...) (24 years ago, 18-Apr-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  patience please

Hi all, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by the amount of stuff I really want to reply to here.. - Right now I'm writing a summary of my opinions on the posting privileges issue, because I see people making false assumptions.   optional automatic delay for annoucements of BrickShelf pics

This idea may be a little too specialized, but it would be great if LUGNET could automatically delay posts that have references to BrickShelf pics that have not yet been moderated. Here's how it would work: - Poster submits a post. If it includes a (...) (22 years ago, 31-Dec-02, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Re: Informal CFD: robotics competition newsgroup(s)

  Oops! Stopping a cross-posting thread

Todd, I think I caused a little faux-pas. I responded to someone's posting in lugnet.general, and since I felt it was something for the FAQ, cross-posted to lugnet.faq. Now anyone who does a respond-all will post a message to both groups, when it (...) (26 years ago, 26-Jan-99, to lugnet.admin.general)

  NNTP Problems

Hi, I use Virtual Access to retrieve newsgroups. I've set it to retrieve all messages in about 12 groups on lugnet.com. It usually times out and has to be run again. It took 6 passes to get all 80 some messages tonight in all those groups. I follow (...) (25 years ago, 9-Sep-99, to lugnet.admin.general)
