  IR proximity detector for RCX!

Hi all, I just finished a little experiment to interface my IR proximity detector to my RCX brick. It works fine. Using this nifty item I can get a left/right/both/neither detection data into the RCX using only the sensor 2 block and the "light" (...) (26 years ago, 25-Feb-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Quality of authored parts

Perhaps this would be a good time to have a discussion of standards for authoring new parts--separate from any particular parts or authors. How realistic do you think parts ought to be in order to be considered for inclusion in the official L-CAD (...) (26 years ago, 26-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Quality of authored parts

(...) I'm certainly not offended. OTOH, I'm going to keep with the standard LDraw simplifications, at least to the extent of not including the dimples beneath the studs on plates and bricks. Steve (26 years ago, 1-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: WTBOT: red 1x14 bricks

(...) To the best of my knowledge, the only 1x14 brick TLG has produced is the brick with a slot down one side that is part of the garage door ass'y. One of the 1999 ninja sets uses one of these, not as a garage door part, but just as a basic brick. (...) (26 years ago, 23-Mar-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Part number in FAQ (Lugnet or LDraw) (was Re: Microfig Borg Cube)

(...) Bingo. Especially common part numbers which run in a sequence along with the size of related parts (like the 2x4, 2x3, 2x2, 2x1, 1x1 bricks are numbered in order from 3001 to 3005). I think Patrick's file has common, basic parts organized into (...) (26 years ago, 1-Mar-99, to lugnet.faq)

  2x5 Bricks!!

Check on set 218 of the 'new' Classic category - it's the first time I've discovered this. The bricks are 2x4's - a bit of a typo there methinks. (25 years ago, 22-Apr-99, to lugnet.admin.database)
