  sending signals over power lines

hello. While this question doesn't pertain directly to the handyboard, I thought I would post it here since I am using the handyboard in my project. Some of you may have heard of this product: There are devices on the market (radio shack and a few (...) (28 years ago, 27-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

(...) I'll post this again: 4 sharp GP1U58Y: 40KHz IR Receivers for $12 From page (URL) them at mek-orders@orlandone...igital.net These are compatible with the IS1U60 as far as i know. I ordered 4 of them and they were shipped to me in the (...) (28 years ago, 21-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Hey, it works!

I can hardly contain my glee! After 3 weeks of fun-yet-obsessive, marriage-threatening, Xmas-be-damned behavior, I've got all four IC and OC interrupts going, receiving/processing/outputting 4 RC PWM signals. This is only a side-note for Handyboard (...) (28 years ago, 27-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Re: LM629 and "quadriture incremental" encoders

James, That's probalby my post you read. I'm still working on hooking 'em up. I'm gonna use two 629's and two 18200 H-bridges. The 629 uses encoders simmilar to the ones in mobile robots. The quadrature encoder has two signals that are 90 degrees (...) (28 years ago, 16-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

RE: sending signals over power lines

There is a good write up on this in one of Steve Ciarcia's columns in BYTE magazine some time in the early 80's. A quick stop at the periodicals desk of a technical library might help you here. --Chuck ---...--- From: Andrew S. (...) (28 years ago, 27-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

If you go to the following link: ftp://cher.media.mit.../cmcmanis/ You will find a file called ir.tar.Z which describes some software I wrote for a PIC chip that drove several LEDs and monitored three IR sensors (Sharp 1SU60s but could have as (...)   Buncha bouncebacks

Fred, I get a bunch of bounce-back messages when I post to this mailing list. Apparently many of the addresses have gone bad. It doesn't really matter, I just delete them, but how does one, as a mailing-list administrator, deal with address (...) (28 years ago, 29-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

They won't post their phone number and it isn't included in their newspaper-like catalog that I now get every (...) (28 years ago, 25-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Buncha bouncebacks

Sorry, there is nothing I can do about this short of compiling, installing, and configuring brand new mail list software from scratch. The mail list SW my lab provides is very primitive and can't do anything intelligent with bounces. I don't really (...) (28 years ago, 30-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re[2]: Config 0C / 0D

Ed, Yes, I got round the problem by using the Newton labs IC 3.1 Beta, which does all the downloading itself. After a couple of tries, it told me that it had reset the config register. I never managed to change it with hbdl, and now I only use IC (...) (28 years ago, 3-Feb-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Motor Problems

I left a email about my motor problem earlier this evening. Well, since then I have changed my code to use ports 2 and 3 and the bot worked just fine for a little while, then both 293 chips smoked. I guess I was drawing too much current. Anyway I am (...) (28 years ago, 6-Feb-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

This question seems to come up a lot here so I thought I'd post to the list rather than reply individually. Here's what I'm doing for IR collision avoidance.   I have a good schematic to post

I have finally debugged my IR proximity sensor circuit and I want to post it to the group. My question is what is the best way to post it?
